Defund police: Oakland city council looks good in ‘irony’

Towards the end of June, the city council of Oakland, California decided to ‘reallocate’ $18 million from the city’s police budget to other areas as part of its grandiose plan to make the city a safer place to live.

Woke LA teacher’s racist rant?

After an unidentified Los Angeles teacher was pulled over by a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) because she was using her cell phone while driving a car, the woke teacher not only accused the deputy of being a murderer but decided to put her racism on display as well.

The looming police shortage in America?

Antifa, Black Lives Matter, left-wing anarchists, murders, rapists, drug dealers and criminals are rejoicing with news that the ‘defund police’ movement has worked. Not only have city councils slashed police budgets, but officers are leaving police forces in droves, and the number of people applying to fill the empty positions is at its lowest levels ever.

Meet Fregon, Australia: A No-police utopia

With BLM and left-wing extremists such as Antifa calling for the complete defunding of police, a story emerges of a small town called Fregon, located in Australia’s outback, that does not have a police force. It has transformed itself into an idyllic, utopian community where people build metal cages to protect certain members of the community and others describe the town as “completely lawless.”

Why did Los Angeles increase police funding?

Despite the fact, the Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Eric Garcetti vowed not to increase police funding, promising to divert any increases to other worthy causes, he dutifully raised his hand in support as the city council unanimously voted to increase the police budget. The city’s law enforcement departments had originally asked for $11 million, but for some reason the city coughed up $36 million. I wonder why Garcetti changed his mind? The Blaze explains: In the first two months of 2021, Los Angeles Police Department officers have fielded 88% more reports of shots fired than the same time period in 2020. Gunshot victims in L.A. are up 141% versus last year, and homicides are up 39%, according to Crosstown, a nonprofit news organization based out of the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. There were 15 hate crimes reported in Los Angeles in 2020, up from seven reported in 2019, according to the Los Angeles Police Commission. To combat the wave of violent crime, the California city has voted on Thursday to increase police …

20 vs 1: Portland mayor pushes to refund police

People are shaking their heads and wondering how these elected politicians actually believed things were going to improve when they cut police funding. Portland’s politicians were caught up in the fad of the day to defund police which they did by cutting $16 million from the police budget. And now Portland’s Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler is wanting to add $2 million to the police budget.

Seattle cuts police funding by 18%

On Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, Seattle City council voted 8-1 to cut police funding by 18% after bending the knee to left-wing extremists in the city demanding funding cuts. The activists were demanding a 50% cut. Newsmax explains: The Seattle City Council approved the city’s 2021 budget with reductions to the police budget, though not as much as activists sought amid mass demonstrations against police brutality over the summer. The council voted Monday to shrink the budget of the Seattle Police Department by about 18%, which includes cuts to overtime and training, KING-TV reported. Dozens of vacant jobs will not be filled and 911 dispatchers and parking enforcement will be moved out of police jurisdiction. Millions of dollars will instead go to community programs. Calgary to defund police?

Caught up in the flavour of the day, Calgary’s city council, a Canadian city, is apparently on the verge of defunding its police. Of course, they are playing games with the wording, but it amounts to the same thing. One city councillor who disagrees with the move says they are doing it to “appease extremists.”

Seattle: Propaganda war to demonize police has paid off

It appears the propaganda war initiated by city politicians and Black Lives Matter to demonize police has paid off. According to reports, Seattle’s Democrat Mayor Jenny Durkan is concerned about the mass exodus of police officers from the Seattle police force putting the number of active police at levels seen in the early 1990s. Meanwhile, the city’s population has grown by 44%. The Blaze explains: Democratic Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan — who once called the police-free autonomous zone in her city a “block party” amid a “summer of love” — is now “deeply concerned” over the mass exodus taking place within the city’s police department.POLL: Did you watch any of the 2020 Presidential Town Halls last night? KING-TV reported early Friday morning that a record number of officers had left the department in September, according to a new Seattle Budget Office report. The report noted that 39 officers and officers-in-training “separated” from the department while an additional 14 officers extended their leaves.  The exodus is part of a continuing trend that has resulted in at least 118 officers leaving the …

Nearly 500 NYPD injured in anti-police protests

Since the anti-police protests started at the end of May, nearly 500 police officers in New York City have been injured in the line of duty. Breitbart explains: More than 470 New York City police officers have been injured in the line of duty due to anti-police protests since May of this year, according to data through September 24 from the department and the New York Post. Black Lives Matter protests, sparked across the nation after the death of George Floyd, sent thousands of people flooding the streets of major American cities, including one of the largest, New York City. Officials from the department have stated that officers have been on the receiving end of Molotov cocktails, shot at, stabbed, hit with rocks and bricks, and hit by vehicles. Of the 472 who reported injuries, 319 of those needed medical attention from a hospital. Seven of those who were injured were admitted into a hospital, such as Lt. Richard Mack, who was severely beaten as he made an arrest on the Brooklyn Bridge in July. READ: Nearly 500 …

Canada: BLM ‘demands’ funding cuts to police

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization has been demanding cuts to police funding throughout the US with some success. Now it appears that BLM has brought the defund police movement to Canada. First thing you should notice is that these weren’t requests, they were demands. In a recent presentation to the Greater Sudbury city council in Ontario, BLM made three demands. The first focussed on more spending and the second on more inclusion. But it is the third ‘demand’ that caught my attention: Demand Three: Black Lives Matter Sudbury demands that the City of Greater Sudbury and Council to immediately defund and redirect 10 per cent of the $62-million Sudbury taxpayer dollars utilized for the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) budget. READ: Black Lives Matter Sudbury unveils list of ‘demands’ for city council Now, it is important to realize that in the US, BLM does not even represent the majority of Blacks. It is not even close. The organization is completely out of touch with the people it claims to represent. The vast majority of …

Seattle cuts funding for 100 police officers

In recent weeks, Seattle has experienced riots and protests with left-wing radicals demanding cuts to police funding. Well, apparently its city council has agreed with these extremists and voted by a margin of 7-2 to cut funding for its police department by $3.4 million. The Blaze explains the consequences: The proposal cuts about $3.4 million from the department’s $400 million budget. Seattle has about 1,400 police officers and the bill would cause 100 police positions to be cut by attrition. The cut to the police department’s funding falls far short of the demands from Black Lives Matter protesters, who have called for 50% of the funds to be diverted to social programs. Kshama Sawant, the far left socialist member of the city council, had voted against the bill because it didn’t go far enough to meet the demands of the BLM protesters. Of course, not everyone is on side with this decision. Seattle Conservative talk show host Jason Rantz had this to say about the recent decision to cut police funding: “This Council will always …

Minneapolis city council wonders why crime is rising

Minneapolis council members have been criticizing the police and calling for the department’s defunding since George Floyd’s death at the end of May. In June, the Democrat council voted to unanimously to abolish the police department. So, people were caught off a bit off guard during a two-hour meeting discussing police reform, when city politicians started complaining to the city’s chief of Police about rising crime rates:

Portland: Peaceful rioters set fire to apartment building

Last night, left-wing extremists in Portland set fire inside an occupied condominium building. They also looted nearby stores brought out the furniture and set fire to it in the middle of the street. This happened as the Portland police decided stay hidden hoping the riot would de-escalate. Of course, it didn’t and police were forced to step in after they set a fire in the lobby of the condominium building. The Daily Wire reports: “A mass gathering devolved into a riot after individuals broke windows, burglarized a business, and lit a fire in an occupied apartment building,” the Portland Police Department said in a statement. “Some in the crowd began lighting off what appeared to be illegal commercial-grade fireworks. A fire was lit in a garbage can in the street. Some windows were broken and walls were defaced with graffiti . In an attempt to deescalate, officers stayed out of sight and monitored the situation from a distance. However, the vandalism and burning continued. People were seen burglarizing a business, taking furniture out, and throwing …

Left-wing anarchists storm Portland suburbs

It’s getting close to three months of consecutive nightly violence in Portland, that was at one time approved by Portland’s Democrat Mayor, Ted Wheeler. He actually joined the rioters as they tried to set fire to a federal courthouse. READ: WATCH: Portland Mayor Joins Violent ‘Protest’; Booed by Protesters, Tear Gassed by Feds But the left wing extremists have turned their attention from downtown Portland to its residential area. Last night, hundreds of left-wing anarchists stormed a suburb of Portland shining lights into homes and going up to their bedrooms windows and screaming at people to get up. The far-left activists wore black and carried shields, at least one of which could briefly be seen with a hammer and sickle symbol on it. “Out of your house, into the streets!” the activists screamed as they marched through the residential neighborhood. They repeated the chant countless times throughout the area. Lots more to read if you are interested. READ: Leftists Storm Suburbs, …

Did hypocritical L.A. City councilor call police 8 times?

On July 1, 2020, Democrat Los Angeles city councilman, Mike Bonin, voted with 11 other members of city council to reduce the spending of the L.A. police department by $150 million. But what Bonin didn’t want everyone to know is that since April he or someone from his office had called the police for help eight times. The Daily Wire explains: A member of the Los Angeles City Council voted to cut $150 million out of the Los Angeles Police Department’s $1.8 billion operating budget. But, according to a new report, the LAPD has been called to his home eight times by the councilman or a member of his staff since April 4. Fox News reporter Bill Melugin was the person who exposed Bonin’s undercover police activity: As soon as the information was released, Bonin immediately denied making the calls. The police responded: READ: L.A. City Councilman Voted To Slash Police Budget. LAPD Called To His Home Eight Times Since April.

81% of US Blacks do NOT want police funding cut?

A new Gallup poll released on Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2020) suggests that 61% of Blacks in America do not want funding for police cut and 20% implied that they actually wanted the funding for police increased. Actually the question Gallup asked was this: Do people want to “maintain or increase” the police presence in their neighbourhoods? But in my mind that was ultimately a question on police spending, without wording it directly.

Grandfather pleads: ‘We Need More Police’

With demands by left-wing radicals to defund or fully dismantle police, a horrified grandfather told reporters “We need more police” after his 11-year-old black grandson was killed at an “anti-violence” cook out. The Daily Wire explains what happened: Over the weekend, an 11-year-old child was shot and killed by stray gunfire after leaving an “anti-violence” cookout put on by his mother Crystal McNeal, a so-called “violence interrupter” in D.C., where she works to stop potential violence by speaking to the area’s most hardened criminals. The criminals connected to young Davon’s death remain at large, though a report from The Washington Post published on Sunday suggests gang activity might have been related to the shooting; Davon, of course, not being a target but an innocent bystander. As the cookout ended, Davon left to retrieve a phone charger and earbuds. At the same time, police say about five men started shooting at one another on a street nearby the cookout.
