Last night, left-wing extremists in Portland set fire inside an occupied condominium building. They also looted nearby stores brought out the furniture and set fire to it in the middle of the street.
This happened as the Portland police decided stay hidden hoping the riot would de-escalate. Of course, it didn’t and police were forced to step in after they set a fire in the lobby of the condominium building.
The Daily Wire reports:
“A mass gathering devolved into a riot after individuals broke windows, burglarized a business, and lit a fire in an occupied apartment building,” the Portland Police Department said in a statement. “Some in the crowd began lighting off what appeared to be illegal commercial-grade fireworks. A fire was lit in a garbage can in the street. Some windows were broken and walls were defaced with graffiti . In an attempt to deescalate, officers stayed out of sight and monitored the situation from a distance. However, the vandalism and burning continued. People were seen burglarizing a business, taking furniture out, and throwing it on the fires in the street.”
Ironically, it is being reported that Portland’s Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler owns a condominium in the complex.
The Oregonian reports
More than 200 people on Monday night marched to the Pearl District condominium tower where Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler lives to demand his resignation.
The demonstration quickly turned destructive as some in the crowd lit a fire in the street, then placed a picnic table from a nearby business on top of the fire to feed the blaze. People shattered windows and broke into a ground-floor dental office took items including a chair, also added to the fire, and office supplies.
Shortly after 11 p.m., a bundle of newspapers was set ablaze and thrown into a ground-floor storefront in the residential building.

The peaceful rioters are demanding that Portland defund its police force and that its mayor resign. Last night provided a brief picture of what the left wing extremist’s police-free world would look like.
A couple of days before this incident, Portland’s Democrat mayor blamed US President Trump for the riots and refused federal assistance in stopping the rioting that has been going on almost nightly in Portland for several months.
In July, Mayor Wheeler was tear-gassed after he actually joined the rioters as they tried to set fire to a federal courthouse.
