100 | Will the Spirit of Jezebel rear its head in the end times?

FOLLOW OUR PODCAST ON (search opentheword): PODCAST NOTES: Hi, my name is Dean Smith and in this podcast, I want to talk about the appearance of the Spirit of Jezebel in the end times. There is a theory circulating among those who study end-times theology, that as we near Christ’s second return we are going to see a revival of the ancient gods who once plagued Israel. This is the premise of Jonathan Cahn’s book, The Return of the Gods, where Cahn argues that we may not necessarily see Baal idols popping up around the world, but rather the spirits behind these idols will try to reassert themselves. Though these idols were typically manufactured out of wood, clay or stone to represent various gods, the Hebrews understood that there was more going on than just idol worship as there were demonic and evil spirits behind these gods. We read in Deuteronomy: “They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked him to anger. They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to …

Franklin Graham warns that every demon from hell has been unleashed on society

In a keynote presentation to the National Religious Broadcasters on Monday, May 22, 2023, Franklin Graham warned that every demon from hell has been launched against society and Christians need to be prepared, Fox News reports. Graham, who is the son of evangelist Billy Graham and CEO of Samaritans Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Society added: “The world has deteriorated so quickly. We cannot be deceived and we can’t be fooled. We need to get ready and be prepared.“ “There’s a storm coming, and we’ve all got to be prepared.” Graham warned Christian organizations that there may soon be a concerted effort to shut them down both financially and technologically, with Banks and digital cloud companies looking to cancel services to Christian organizations that they don’t agree with. “We’re living in a cancel culture, and [big corporations] want to destroy Christian organizations,” Graham added. “They want us to shut our mouths. They don’t want to hear from us.” READ: Franklin Graham at Christian media convention: Every ‘demon from hell’ has been ‘turned loose’ in …

Several believers attended SatanCon to share Jesus with those attending the world’s largest satanic gathering

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NASV) In this verse from Ephesians, the Apostle Paul told believers that our enemy is not flesh and blood or people, but rather our real enemy is spiritual, evil spirits and demons. Though it may be difficult at times to make that separation, it is important that we do. With that understanding, several Christians attended SatanCon held in Boston, MA on April 28-30, 2023. Sponsored by the Satanic Temple, the event was billed as the world’s ‘largest satanic gathering,’ The Christian Post reports. The believers, who were members of numerous Christian organizations, were there to share the love of Jesus with those who were attending the satanic convention. In an interview with CP, Lynn MacAskill, a regional leader for Intercessors for America, said: “Numerous Christians from several teams did minister to SatanCon attendees though, with some great stories, so seeds …

Pages of a Bible ripped out as part of SatanCon’s opening ceremony

As we have previously reported, SatanCon was held this past weekend (April 28-30, 2023) in Boston, MA. Sponsored by The Satanic Temple, the sold-out event, was billed as the largest satanic gathering in history. Fox News reports that the event lived up to its billing. During Friday’s opening ceremony, one of the hosts ripped pages out of the Bible and threw them on the floor. While another ripped up a ‘Thin Blue Flag,’ which represented the police. According to the hosts, these two things were destroyed as part of SatanCon’s renunciation of “symbols of oppression.” Later, some members of the crowd who cheered as the Bible was destroyed, picked up the pages and took selfies with them. It also seems the event had a distinctly left-wing tinge to it. Fox News added this tidbit of information: The conference has been replete with numerous guest speakers and lectures, many of which were dedicated to far-left identity politics. Does the movie, ‘Nefarious’, expose the reality of evil spirit possession?

Nefarious is a Christian movie with a twist: It’s being called a horror flick as it revolves around the story of a demon-possessed man on death row called Nefarious, played by Christian actor Patrick Flanery. In his review of the movie for Digital Journal, Markos Papadatos described the movie as riveting and gave it a rating of 4.5 out of 5. “Most importantly, ‘Nefarious’ is a movie that will certainly spark serious conversations with viewers once it’s over,” Papadatos pointed out. The movie script was written by Christian filmmakers Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman who also wrote God is not Dead and Unplanned. The movie centers around the interaction between an atheist psychiatrist, Dr. James Martin, played by Christian actor Jordan Belfi, and Nefarious. Though he doesn’t believe in demons or demon possession, Martin has been called in to evaluate Nefarious’ mental health as he is scheduled to be executed for murdering 11 people. If found insane, Nefarious would avoid execution. During the interview, Nefarious reveals itself as a demon and Martin is forced to …

Christian prayer warriors gathering in Boston to pray for those attending SatanCon

A group of Christian prayer warriors have organized a Revive Boston conference purposefully being held in at the same time as SatanCon, scheduled for Boston this upcoming week, Fox News reports. SatanCon, which will run from April 28-30, 2023, coincides with The Satanic Temple’s tenth anniversary and has been billed as the ‘largest satanic gathering in history.’ The event advertised as “a weekend of blasphemy and remembrance in Boston,” will include a satanic marketplace, discussion panels, speaking events and even ‘unbaptisms’ for those denying their Christian faith. In an interview with the Christian Post, Suzie MacAskill, an organizer of Revive Boston, said she expects hundreds of people to attend the gathering as many intercessors have expressed that they felt God calling them to Boston. While there, they will be praying for the salvation of those attending SatanCon. “My personal sense is that God is doing something new, something powerful, something wonderful, and He is calling His bride to unity as He does this,” McAskill said. “We are seeing intercessors and watchmen joining with us from …

Controversial movie, ‘Come out in Jesus Name,’ causes a stir in theaters across America

Another Christian movie is causing a stir in American theaters. This is not only because it hit number five in box office sales, but also because of what is happening in theaters where it is being shown. The movie, called “Come out in Jesus Name,” focuses on the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver people from demonic influences. The Demon Slayer Podcast, which includes Pastor Greg Locke, Alexander Pagani, Vlad Savchuk, and Isaiah Saldivar, were the driving force behind the movie’s production that came in fifth behind “AIR,” “Dungeons & Dragons,” “John Wick: Chapter 4,” and “The Super Mario Bros.” Incredibly it placed second when considering per screen average sales. Through the movie, the members of Demons Slayers Podcast are hoping that Christians will understand and embrace their authority in Christ over the demonic. But aside from how well the movie has done financially, it is what is happening at the theaters that is proving quite controversial, as God TV states there have been reports of healings, salvations, and deliverances. As an example, God …

West Virginia church vandalized with phallic symbols and words ‘believe in satan’ over Easter Weekend

Vandals broke into Konnarock Baptist Church in Washington County in West Virginia over the Easter weekend spray-painting satanic messages and phallic symbols on the interior and exterior of the building. It was solely an act of vandalism, as nothing seems to have been stolen from the church. The church was broken into on Sunday morning after the morning service and all interior rooms except for the main sanctuary were vandalized. The messages included ‘believe in satan,’ ‘I’m not sorry,’ a pentagram and 666. Several windows were broken and there was also a stick figure hanging from a noose painted on one wall as well as phallic images. What Should You Do When Your Plans Seem Hindered?

Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. — 1 Thessalonians 2:18 Have you ever pursued something that you believed was God’s will, yet obstacles seemed to keep you from doing what you thought you were supposed to do? If you have, don’t feel alone, because many people have been in that same position! Even the apostle Paul felt this way from time to time! But what should you do in times like these? Today I want you to particularly notice the word “hindered” in the verse above. It comes from the Greek word egkopto, an old word that was originally used to describe a road so deteriorated and broken up that it was impassable. Have you ever driven down a road on your way to your destination, only to discover that the road you’re driving on is too full of ruts and holes to continue your journey? As a result, you have to turn around, go back, and find another route to get where you are going. …

Was COVID part of a strategic satanic attack?

There is an interesting verse in the book of Mark that describes the events leading up to King Herod’s slaying of John the Baptist after Herod’s wife, Herodias, had her daughter ask for John’s head after performing what was essentially a strip tease for Herod and his cronies. The verse hints at the seditious nature of the spiritual conflict that we are involved in. 21 A strategic day came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his lords and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee; (Mark 6:21 NASV) The 1995 version of the NASV called Herod’s birthday celebration as a strategic day. Other versions translate the Greek word ‘eukairos’ as an opportune time. But the meaning is clear, it speaks of a well-timed assault and speaks of satanic forces strategizing in their attack on the Kingdom of God. And it’s obvious from this verse that this strategy involved manipulating political leaders. Herod’s wife Herodias wanted to take out John the Baptist who was publicly criticizing her marriage to Herod. Using her daughter, …

Actress Melissa Hart shares about her battle with forces of darkness

Actress Melissa Joan Hart, who became famous playing the lead role in 1990s TV hit series, “Clarissa Explains It All” and later in “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” shared about her journey of faith in an interview with Paula Faris on her podcast Journeys of Faith, CBN reports. Hart explained that she came from a Roman Catholic background and her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, was raised as an Alabama Baptist. The two reached a compromise and decided to become Presbyterian and her faith began to grow after she decided to attend a community Bible study at a Presbyterian church. In the interview, Hart shared how she believed faith in Christ was the only way to heaven. It came up as she shared how her son had befriended a Jewish boy at school. The two ended up having many discussions about faith and Hart shared with her son that Jesus was the only way to heaven. Unfortunately, Hart’s comment generated a massive backlash on social media as she was criticized for holding this belief. It reflects a …

It’s Time for You To Stop Acting Like You’re a Victim!

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it — Colossians 2:15 By Rick Renner We can count on the fact that there are unseen evil forces that have been assigned to kill, steal, and destroy everything good in our lives. The Bible clearly teaches that these devilish forces band together to commit acts of aggression against the saints — and that includes you and me! This truth is quite evident in Scripture, for Paul wrote many verses about spiritual weapons, spiritual armor, and how we are to resist these unseen, demonic forces. Yet it is very important that we approach this subject with the right attitude! Because of Jesus’ death on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead, the forces of hell are already defeated. However, even though they have been legally stripped of their authority and power, they continue to roam around this earth, carrying out evil deeds like criminals, bandits, hooligans, and thugs. And just like criminals who refuse to submit to the law, …

The growing reality of spiritual warfare

We live in interesting times. While, Christians witnessed an outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Asbury college in Kentucky, CBN reported on an unusual counter event that will be taking place in Boston at the end of April. Called ‘SatanCon 2023,’ the event is being hosted by The Satanic Temple (TST) based in Salem, Massachusetts and is billed as “a weekend of blasphemy and remembrance in Boston.” According to TST’s website, the event has already been sold out and promises to be the largest satanic gathering in history. This will be the second convention sponsored by TST and this year’s event will mark the group’s tenth anniversary. The event, which will run from April 28-30, will coincide with an ancient German holiday called Hexennacht or ‘witches night’ a two-day event that typically runs from April 30 to May 1. During this festival, witches across Germany gathered at Mount Brocken to revel with the devil. Mount Brocken has been associated with the demonic since the Middle Ages and the popularity of the celebration is growing among …

Devil Worship? What is that?

Have you heard the claim that Climate Change is now a religion? Some people believe that. If you want to know more, try an Internet search with those keywords. Also, we have people with strong convictions about sexual orientation and gender transition. Those beliefs can become like the meaning of life for the people involved. Radical ideas can be like a religion. Some critics claim that many of these ideas came together at the recent Grammy Awards: So, have you noticed the talk about religions centered on the person of Satan? For example, there is some interest in “After School Satan Club” meetings for children in public schools. Also, there is a religious organization, that we might call a church, named the “Temple of Satan.” Again, an Internet search with those keywords will produce many discussions and articles. One member was interviewed and claimed that the followers of the Satanic religion were really Atheists. They did not believe in an actual person with that name and image: If we invert the Satanist argument, we could …

2023 Grammys: A ‘Tribute to Satan’?

Many viewers of the 65th annual Grammy Awards held on Sunday night, Feb 5, 2023, in Los Angeles, described the performance of the duo, Sam Smith and Kim Petras, as a ‘tribute to Satan’, the Daily Mail reports. Grammys are described as music’s biggest night and the two gave the performance after winning the Best Pop Duo/Group performance award. Smith who wore satanic headgear and at times seemed to be accepting worship from the dancers prompted several tweets that talked about the heavy satanic themes seen during this year’s ceremony, which included other performers talking about Satan. It was so obvious that the ceremony host was even forced to jokingly talk about it. The Daily Mail provided several tweets of people’s responses to the performance: ‘I know we on the right probably use the word satanic too often but this performance from Sam Smith is literally a tribute to Satan.’ ‘You don’t have to be super religious to be disturbed by that Sam Smith devil-worshiping performance.’ ‘That Sam Smith performance was weird I had to …

The Lord of Hosts

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4) We are involved in a spiritual battle, and sometimes it is easy to forget this important fact. Yet, when we look at the Bible, warfare is perhaps its central message and that comes through in one of the names of God, the Lord of Hosts, Yahweh–Sabaoth, which literally means the Lord of armies. God is referred to by this name 290 times in the Bible, more than the total of all other names of God combined. These include the names we are more familiar with such as, Yahweh-Rapha, the Lord is my healer or Yahweh-Jirah, the Lord is my provider. Even the name, Yahweh-Nissi, the Lord is my banner, had military implications as flags or standards were also used to rally troops. The name showed up in Exodus 17:15-16, when Moses used it to describe the altar …

Are satanists at it again?

For several years, the small community of Bramshaw, England has been inundated with satanic symbols, rituals and related vandalism. The latest involved the discovery of five animal hearts placed on top of a stone landmark at the site. It was surrounded by a large circle of candles in what appeared to have been part of a satanic ritual held at the site, the Daily Mail reports. The ceremony was performed in a popular area in a nearby park sometime around Jan 13, 2023. Public displays of the demonic rituals started showing up in 2019, when people found dead sheep lying on roads with pentagrams spray-painted on their corpses. In one instance, an upside-down cross was placed on a body. St. Peter’s Church was also vandalized with satanic symbols that same year. Then in December 2022, parishioners who were on their way to the church in preparations for Christmas, found a dead cat hanging from the flagpole. “I have no idea why it is happening in our area. If it is connected to witchcraft, then the …

Increased interest in spirituality brings opportunity and danger, surveys find

According to a survey conducted by Barna, there is a potential for a great spiritual awakening among Americans, as they appear to be more open to spiritual things since the pandemic. The survey found that 74% of Americans stated that they were interested in ‘growing spiritually’ and 44% added that they are more open to God than they were before the COVID pandemic, Christian Headlines reports. The survey also found that 77% believed there was a ‘higher power’ or God and only 9% did not believe this. Barna CEO David Kinnaman said that while attendance at churches has declined since the pandemic, the survey revealed this growing interest in spiritual things provided a “tremendous opportunity for faith leaders.” “Across every generation, in fact, we see an unprecedented desire to grow spiritually, a belief in a spiritual/supernatural dimension and a belief in God or a higher power” Kinnaman added. He noted that this interest is even showing up among teens where 76% said that “Jesus speaks to me in a way that is relevant to my …

Why did God give Moses two practice signs?

When God encountered Moses at the burning bush, the Lord not only commissioned Moses to deliver Israel out of Egypt, but also gave Moses three signs to convince them they were to be delivered, two of which he actually practiced. The Hebrews had flourished for decades in Egypt after being brought there by Joseph, but after a change in government (Exodus 1:8), they were now beaten down and enslaved, much of it due to how the Hebrews thought and perceived their masters. The public relations firm working with the Egyptian pharaohs had successfully built up a mystique around them. We even see hints of it in the book of Isaiah, where the prophet directly attacked the wrong perceptions that the Jews had about Egypt: The Egyptians are man, and not God,    and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. (Isaiah 31:3a ESV) Even though this prophecy was given years after Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, there was still this mistaken perception of how powerful the Egyptians were. I suspect that Isaiah was addressing the stories that were …

Were the Magi, God’s plunder of hell?

In his record of Jesus’ birth, Matthew reports that magi from the East came to Jerusalem looking for the newborn king, because they had seen His star. Bible versions have translated the Greek word, magos, used in this verse in different ways. Most translate it as ‘wise men’. The Message translates it as scholars. J.B. Philips translates the word as astrologers. The New American Standard Version uses Magi, with this footnote, “A caste of educated men specializing in astronomy, astrology, and natural science.” They were an interesting group and Wikipedia provides this definition of the magi: Magi (/ˈmeɪdʒaɪ/; singular magus/ˈmeɪɡəs/; from Latinmagus) were priests in Zoroastrianism and the earlier religions of the western Iranians. The earliest known use of the word magi is in the trilingual inscription written by Darius the Great, known as the Behistun Inscription. Old Persian texts, predating the Hellenistic period, refer to a magus as a Zurvanic, and presumably Zoroastrian, priest. Thayer’s Greek dictionary adds that they were also influential advisors to the Kings of Babylon and Persia: 1a) the name …

Parish priest claims church targeted by Satanists

The vicar of a church in Bramshaw, England claims his church is being targeted by Satanists, the Daily Mail reports. Reverend David Bacon of St Peter’s Church made this statement after members of his congregation, who had come to the church to decorate it for Christmas, found a cat hanging from the church’s flagpole. Reverend Bacon described it as being horribly hanged. A few weeks earlier, a fox was found dead on the doorsteps of the church built in the 12th century, and it is highly unlikely it died from natural causes. The vicar’s claim has some recent history supporting this belief. In 2019, several dead sheep were found around the village with satanic pentagrams spray-painted on their dead bodies. In one instance, an upside-down cross was found laying against a dead sheep that had been stabbed with a spear. Inverted crosses are a common satanic symbol. That same year, St Peter’s church also had occultic symbols sprayed on its outside wall. READ: Vicar of church targeted by ‘Satanists’ who ‘stabbed sheep and sprayed them …

Joseph beheaded in a violent attack on a church’s nativity scene

The nativity scene at a church in Ipswich, England has been vandalized just four days after it had been set up at the 13th century All Saints Church. The display was torn apart with the life-size figurines scattered around the site. Many of the figurines were damaged and will require a significant amount of repair to make them suitable for display. The model of Joseph had also been decapitated. “Why would someone have so much hatred and desire to ruin and destroy something that is not their property, and something that is there to express someone’s belief?,” The Rev Danny Morrison who serves as the church’s vicar told the Daily Mail. “What state might their life be like if they find pleasure in doing this? I am trying to make sense which I really can’t.” The church has been putting up the Nativity scene for the past five years. It has a message beneath it that reads, “Jesus came to save us all.” Unfortunately, the nativity was also vandalized several times in 2018, the first …

The Christian and pagan roots of Halloween

Halloween has its roots in both the ancient Roman Catholic tradition of All Saints’ Day and Celtic paganism. Traditionally, All Saints’ Eve or All Hallows Eve from which we get the term Halloween has been celebrated on Oct. 31 by the Roman Catholic Church for centuries. All Saints Day was first commemorated by Pope Gregory III (731-741) on Nov 1, to honor the construction of an oratory for Saint Peter. The day was set aside to commemorate all who had died, particularly the saints and martyrs. All Saints’ Eve was celebrated the night before on Oct 31. Since the Roman Catholic Church believes in praying for the souls of the dead, this quickly became the main feature of the All Saints’ Day/Eve celebration. Roman Catholic theology believes in purgatory, which is a place where people can go to pay penance for their sins, before continuing on to heaven. The prayers for the dead are intended to shorten a soul’s stay in this intermediary state. The practice dilutes Jesus perfect sacrifice for the sins of the …

What does the Bible say about ghosts?

With Halloween around the corner, what does the Bible have to say about ghosts? Most of us are probably familiar with the story in the Gospels, when the disciples were crossing the sea of Galilee on a stormy night and thought they saw a ghost. Because of the storm, everyone was already apprehensive and Christ who had chosen to remain behind, joined them a bit later, walking out to them on the water. Seeing this apparition hovering over the rolling waves, the disciples immediately were fearful that they were seeing a ghost. They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” (Luke 24:37-39, NIV) The Greek word, ‘phantasma’, translated ghost by most modern translations in this verse, referred to how people believed that the souls of the dead could still …

France: 40% of under-35s seriously believe in witchcraft

Surveys in France reveal that there is a growing interest in witchcraft in that country, with one finding that upwards of 40% of those under the age of 35 ‘seriously’ believe in witchcraft, Breitbart reports. The surveys were conducted by Ifop, a French opinion and marketing firm, in 2020 and 2022. The 2020 survey found: Ifop’s 2022 survey reported: The problem came to light after a group blackmailed French soccer star, Paul Pogba, by accusing him of casting spells. Breitbart provides the details: Paul Pogba, a star of the French national football (soccer) squad who currently plays for Italian side Juventus, allegedly paid off a group of blackmailers, including his own brother, 100,000 euros ($100,100) in April, and claimed masked men armed with rifles threatened him in a Paris apartment the month prior. The blackmailers, believed to be childhood friends of Pogba, are said to have demanded as much as 13 million euros. The case became public after Mathias Pogba began posting tweets regarding his brother, including allegations that Paul had used witchcraft to cast spells …

Exorcism, Casting Our Demons: Do we still do that?

Do you remember the movie “The Exorcist”? Did you watch it? That film is a horror movie from 1973. I am old enough to remember when everyone was watching it, and talking about it. Strangely, I have never seen the movie, but all my friends did. For a few weeks, they all became religious. To help us remember, here is a video trailer: That is scary! The whole point of a horror movie is to entertain us and to make a lot of money for the producers. I’m sure “The Exorcist” did both. It was the first horror movie nominated for an Academy Award, and the highest-grossing horror movie, until 2017. We are still entertained by exorcism stories. Recently, a news story came from a Bible Camp in Saskatchewan, Canada. At least one adult, and some boys at the camp, did an exorcism on one boy. So far, the police have investigated, but they have not brought criminal charges. Apparently, exorcism is not illegal in Canada. Some people from the Camp claim that they did …

Under His Feet!

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.— Ephesians 1:22 By Rick Renner In the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, there is an exquisite display of the treasures of King Tut (Tutankhamun) — the boy pharaoh who died at a very early age and whose tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in the year 1922. I’ve been to Tut’s Tomb in the Valley of the Kings, and on multiple occasions I’ve seen the display of treasures found in his tomb that are on view in the Egyptian Museum. This museum is one of the world’s greatest — filled with artifacts from the ancient world. However, of all the relics on display, there is something uniquely breathtaking about the treasures of King Tut. Each time I’ve been there, I’ve found myself especially fascinated by one group of items in the collection — the walking canes that were used by King Tut. As one might expect, these canes are long and slender and are …

Human sacrifice and the spirit of fear?

A Bolivian man, Víctor Alvarez, recently told the incredible story of how he escaped after allegedly being buried alive as a human sacrifice to Pachamama, the goddess of fertility and earth, in early August, The Daily Mail reports. Some Bolivians believe that the goddess Pachamama opens her mouth for offerings at the Mother Earth Festival and those participating will make sacrifices including sweets, cocoa leaves, sheep fetuses and even live animals. Stories have even circulated of human sacrifices in the ancient past. Alvarez, 30, who was attending this year’s festival held on August 5, 2022 is convinced that he was buried alive as a sacrifice to Pachamama after he passed out from drinking. Because when he awoke, Alvarez found himself inside a coffin buried in the ground. Fortunately, he was able to break through the coffin and dig his way out. The Bible mentions several instances of human sacrifice. When the Egyptian Pharaoh ordered the killings of the Hebrew baby boys while in their Egyptian captivity, he did a very unusual thing. Instead of killing …

Back to basics

Well, it finally happened, I got COVID. During a heat wave in August, I am well ….. sick! I now understand what the phrase ‘fellowship of His suffering’ means. So on my way to the Futon, I randomly grabbed one of my martial arts books off our bookcase. Just something to read and get my mind off the ugh… I have found it strange, that I have had very few prophetic words concerning direction during this pandemic, but I got a word for the church while reading this ‘random’ martial arts book. The book by Richard Kim, called ‘The Weaponless Warriors,’ is a series of stories about an Okinawan Karate master from the past. Reading a book, while your eyes feel like they are running with what appears to be gorilla glue, is not fun. But I randomly read one chapter and could not see past the goo to read anymore. I initially thought this would be a good story to share with my karate class. Then I felt like God saying, how about sharing …

Did Baal show up at the Commonwealth Games?

In his vision of the end times, the Apostle John saw a time coming when the people would openly worship the beast, which of course is none other than Satan, the god of this world. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear. (Revelation 13:8-9 NIV) It is difficult to imagine how the world could be so deceived, that humanity would be enticed into worshiping this false god. But a bizarre thing happened at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England in August 2022. As part of the opening ceremonies, a massive (six-story high) bull with flashing red eyes and smoke pouring out of its nostrils was dragged into the main arena. As strange as that was, this wasn’t even the bizarre part. When the mechanical bull entered the arena, a woman walked in front of it, to calm it down. After this happened, dancers …
