Have you been raided?

Greg Gordon has operated sermonindex.net for 14 years. He also has a YouTube channel with over 5,000 sermons that people have viewed over 35 million times. Thousands of these sermons are embedded in websites around the world. He was shocked to find out that YouTube had recently shutdown his channel for violating community standards and specifically cited “deceptive practices.” Gordon had no idea what they were talking about, but obviously someone had complained. Though YouTube eventually restored the service, Gordon believes the shutdown was an attack of the enemy. In an article on Charisma News Gordon said: “I started to consider this a direct attack from the enemy. That same night, I fainted and fell and ended up at the ER. This has never happened to me with a flu or sickness. We have curried the prayer support of thousands of prayer (warriors.)” There is an interesting verse in the Gospels where Jesus talks about violent people raiding the Kingdom of God. The problem started when King Herod was visiting his brother Philip and became …

Beware the roaring lion

In several verses, the Bible warns about the devil’s attack. The Apostle Paul tells us to be wary of the snares of the devil (1 Timothy 3:7), deceiving or seducing spirits (1 Timothy 4:1) and the devils schemes or mind games (2 Corinthians 2:11). But it is the Apostle Peter who urges believers to be on the “alert” for the “roaring lion,” who seeks out those he can devour. 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NASV) It’s interesting how the apostle throws in the term “roaring” to describe the lion. For years, scientists have been puzzled by the unusual affect the lion’s roar has on its prey. When the lion gives a deep, guttural roar, animals — instead of instantly fleeing — are momentarily paralyzed giving the lion a brief opportunity to strike. Researchers have now discovered the reason for this. Along with its roar, the lion utters what is called “infrasound.” This is a …

The ten-foot angel said “I am not going to let you kill her”

It was February 24, 2009, when Canadian missionary Sue Ambrose heard the sound of someone running up behind her. She turned and saw a madman coming at her with an upraised machete. She remembers screaming “No” and the crazed man yelling “Yeah, you” then the blade deflected off her skull, chipping bone, and slicing off skin and hair. Stunned Sue fell to the ground, but continued to fight back. When the man thrust the large knife into her hip, she grabbed the blade to stop him from striking her again severing several tendons in her hand. From Salmon Arm, BC, Sue and her husband Mark serve as Wycliffe missionaries in Papua, New Guinea. She was returning to the missionary compound after buying food at the local market for the students at the Bible and literacy school where she and her husband minister. She used these walks as a time of meditative prayer and that morning she was contemplating a verse she had spoken to people about that morning: “Whoever desires to save his life will …

But Satan hindered us

It was a cold winter night in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada as my wife, then fiancé, and I drove a lonely highway to visit my parents. We had started late afternoon for the six-hour drive. Other than a car following behind us, there wasn’t much traffic. But two flickering lights off in the dark distance warned of an approaching vehicle. As the car got closer, it suddenly veered into our lane. Panicked my wife who was driving wrenched the steering wheel to the right and our car plunged into the ditch. We hit the ditch at full speed and the deep snow gripped our front wheels and our car rolled. Not sideways, but end over end — back over front. Suddenly my wife and I were hanging upside down in our car. I remember fumbling with the keys and turning off the vehicle. We released our seat belts and collapsed on the ceiling of the car. Other than being in total shock about what had just happened, we were unhurt. But the deep snow, that had …

Intercessors: Engaging the enemy

I consider myself an intercessor and it has taken the full length and breadth of 30 years to understand what intercession is and who I am in this gifting and calling. Intercessors, in their various roles, stand in the gap for people in prayer and worship to enhance God’s presence, draw people in and bring them into a more intimate experience and connection with God. Not everyone is called to intercede in this way.  There are many roles that intercessors play and one person does not do it all. I am a dancer and along with other women, I dance in church during worship with ribbons, scarves and flags. As intercessors we need to be sensitive to shifts in the spiritual realm.  We often find ourselves pressing into these shifts to enhance the worship and/or step into warfare to exercise authority over the enemy and his strongholds. There are moments in worship on Sunday mornings when I grab a flag and begin to intercede with the flag during the height of worship. At other times, …

Did this Prophetic act in Washington, DC break a curse over the US?

According to an article on Charisma News, some are calling an event that took place on October 21, 2016 a prophetic act that could profoundly impact America. On that day, 1000 Native Americans representing Indian tribes across both the US and Canada gathered in Washington DC to forgive the early Americans who broke treaties they made with Indian tribes decades ago. At the event called the National Day of Prayer for First Nations held at the Washington Mall, representatives of America’s tribal groups spoke declarations forgiving America. Speaking on behalf of the (Euchee) Yuchi tribe, Negiel Bigpond stated he was forgiving “the US, whether it asked for it or not.” Bigpond who organized the prayer event is a fourth generation pastor and serves as a tribal chief. He along with other native leaders and intercessors spoke a number of declarations that are posted at the All Tribes DC website. This included: “We repent of every curse spoken over America by our ancestors and we release the power of forgiveness to bring healing and the peace …

How the spirit of Jezebel captures a nation

At the beginning of his vision of the end times recorded in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John provides messages to seven churches of Asia –Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. We know churches existed in these cities during John’s day and in some ways he seems to be addressing situations taking place when he wrote this book while banished on the island of Patmos. But the Book of Revelation was a prophetic vision of the end time — of future events that would culminate in the return of Christ. Because of this, many believe the warnings that John sent to the seven churches are also prophetic and reveal demonic attacks the end-times churches will face. One of these involves an attack by the Spirit of Jezebel. In chapter two, John describes a situation taking place in the church of Thyatira involving a woman called Jezebel. 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so …

Battling in the heavenly realm for your nation

In an earlier post, I talked about Jesus delivering a man possessed by a legion of demons in an area called the Gadarenes. What I didn’t talk about is the bizarre request this horde of demons made to Jesus. Mark writes about the encounter in his gospel. He notes that the deliverance is a bit unusual, because the demons didn’t immediately leave when Jesus commanded them, which had been standard practice up to this point: 8 For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” 10 And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country. (Mark 5:8-10 NASV) Because the spirit was able to initially resist, Jesus asked for its name and even that was not provided right away. But Christ had authority, and the evil spirit finally buckled and coughed up its name. It called itself Legion, “for we are many.” At …

Is Satan real? Thai model manifests a spirit on live TV?

An interesting YouTube video has gone viral showing a young Thai model, Thippawan ‘Pui’ Chaphupuang” being possessed by a spirit while being interviewed on a live TV show in Thailand. During the interview, the young woman tells the host that she is often visited by a Thai spirit called ‘pop.’ According to Thai beliefs, Pop is a powerful ghost or spirit said to possess women. It is thought to be cannibalistic and will eat the internal organs such as the heart and liver of the girl it possesses. In other words, it will eventually destroy the person, it possesses. It is believed to be the malevolent side of a group of Thai spirits called Phi Fa that causes natural disasters or disease. During the interview the girl tells the host that ‘pop’ is coming to possess her and she begins to manifest this spirit. The original poster removed the video, but others have since posted it. The young woman begins to writhe and screech and at times speaks in a lower tone. The host asks …

Baal arches scheduled for New York City and London, England — CANCELLED

[UPDATED SEPTEMBER 20, 2016:] It is now being reported that the Baal arch originally planned for New York City and then cancelled is on again. According to Breaking Israel News (BIN) a replica of the 1,800 year old Victory Arch that stood in front of a Baal Temple in Plamyra, Sryia went up in New York City’s Hall Park on September 19th. Roman Emperor Servius constructed the original arch in the third century and installed it in front of an ancient Baal Temple. The arch was destroyed in 2015 by the radical Islamic group ISIS. An organization called the Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA) announced plans in March this year to create a 15-meter tall 3-D replica of the Arch with plans to install one in both New York City and London, England. Though the New York City installation was cancelled some believe due to public pressure IDA installed the arch in London’s Trafalgar Square on April 19th. ……………………………………………….. I had reported earlier on several media reports stating that an organization called the Institute of …

Is a Temple of Baal coming to a city near you?

According to an article in the New York Post, next month the Institute of Digital Archaeology (IDA) will unveil a full-sized replica of the Temple of Baal in New York City and London, England with plans to build 1,000 more in other cities. The IDA is a project sponsored by the University of Oxford, Harvard University and Dubai’s Museum of the Future. According to the Post, the temple in New York will be installed as part of an UNESCO’s World Heritage event in April. Standing 48′ tall, these Baal arches are being built in China using 3-D printers. The altars will be set up in prominent locations — Times Square in New York and Trafalgar Square in London. They will replicate the arches of a 2,000-year-old Baal Temple located in Syria destroyed by ISIS in August, 2015. Baal was a Canaanite god that Israel encountered several times after they entered the Promised Land. This god was supposedly in charge of the weather and fertility. The Baal gods went by different names which at times represented …

Was Gary, Indiana’s ‘portal to hell’ finally destroyed?

The Dailymail is reporting that a home in Gary, Indiana described as a ‘portal to hell’ was finally razed to the ground earlier this year. This description of the house was not uttered by a pastor or religious person, but rather by a police officer who visited the home. Neither was it a metaphorical description, but rather reflected the beliefs that it was a place where demons and evil spirits manifested themselves. Located 25 miles from Chicago, Gary, Indiana is a city in decline. With a population of about 80,000 it has 10,000 abandoned homes, businesses and industries and according to one report is a serial killer’s playground. The story about this house started in 2011, when Latoya Ammons and her three children rented the house. Shortly after they moved in Latoya reported that her family was being tormented by evil spirits. Bizarre things began happening in her home including hearing strange sounds and even seeing a presence in the house. No one other than family members could verify this and if these manifestations had …

A psychiatrist’s encounter with demon possession

In an article published in the New Oxford Review, Dr. Richard Gallagher — an associate professor of psychiatry at New York Medical College — said a woman he worked with displayed overt signs of demon possession including levitation and paranormal acts. Julia, a pseudonym, was a former Catholic and first went to a Catholic priest seeking help believing she was being attacked by demons. From there she was referred to an official Catholic exorcist, who after a thorough examination, brought in Dr. Gallagher to examine Julia’s mental condition. Based on a number of sessions with Julia, Gallagher determined she was demon possessed. Gallagher states her actions were not only witnessed by himself and other fellow “mental health professionals,” but also by nurses, priests, lay people and nuns. Gallagher says most psychiatrists and doctors are not open to demon possession, despite frequent encounters with patients claiming they are under demonic attack. As a result, most in his profession routinely miss instances of genuine demonic possession. Written from a Catholic perspective, Gallagher provides insight on possession from …

Is the key to revival in Denmark bringing down the strongman in Christiania?

Though the name almost sounds Christian, Christiania is anything but. The quaint, strange village with over 1,000 residents exists only minutes away from downtown Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark. Started in 1971 at the height of the hippie movement, it is almost a country within a country. It has its own flag and currency and minimalist rules. Basically it started as hippie squatters took over an abandoned Danish army base and despite several skirmishes with the government, it has grown to become a self-governing village. Today the town’s inhabitants, who refer to themselves as Christianites, are made up of hippie pensioners, left-wing extremists and anarchists, environmental activists, many new age and occultist practitioners, alternative rock bands and kids just passing through. The village is inundated with eastern religious influences including a Buddhist temple and meditation center. It also has an occult center and even a New Age pyramid. Cars are not allowed in Christiania and for a time it was even illegal for community members to own one as members frowned on private property. …

As food for them?

The prophet Ezekiel uttered a strange prophetic word condemning Israel’s practice of sacrificing their children: 37 for they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them. (Ezekiel 23:37 NIV) Ezekiel was referring to the worship of Molech, a god found among the Canaanites and Phoenicians. It went by different names — Molech, Kronos and Chemosh are a few. King Solomon in his downward spiral even set up an idol to these gods in a high place in Israel (1 Kings 11:7). Leviticus 18:21 condemned the practice and gave more information:  “and thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech.” Diodorus Siculus, an ancient Greek historian, reported it as an idol with arms sticking out in front at a bit of an angle. The families would place their child on the arms and the baby or infant would roll down into a fire inside the idol. The historian adds the …

Teens encouraged to summon up a Mexican demon called Charlie

[by Dean Smith] A game exploded on the internet on Monday, circulating through popular social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, encouraging teens to play a game patterned off a Ouija board. It involves conjuring up a Mexican demon called  Charlie. According to reports 100s of thousands of teens are taking up the challenge referred to on Twitter as the “CharlieCharlieChallenge.” The ritual involves writing the words ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on the corners of a piece of paper. A pencil is laid down vertically along the center of the page and a second pencil is then balanced horizontally on top forming a cross.

Did God con a conman — the Egyptian Pharaoh?

[by Dean Smith] As I read of Israel’s deliverance out of Egypt found in the Book of Exodus, one thing always puzzled me. Why didn’t the Pharaoh just order a hit job on Moses? Moses came before the Pharaoh several times asking permission for Israel to leave Egypt. Each time the Pharaoh said no and then Moses announced another plague. There was plenty of opportunity for the Pharaoh to end it all by simply taking out the Jewish leader. But the Pharaoh didn’t do it? Why?

Deception: Being deceived by what you believe

[by Dean Smith] Both my parents served in the Canadian military during World War II, and because of this I have always had a keen interest in that war. As I was watching a program on the war a while back, I learned an important lesson on deception. In John 8:44, Jesus describes Satan as the father of lies and in the devil’s first attack on humanity deception was the key to his success. Eve admitted to God she had been deceived by Satan in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:13). Deception in its simplest form is having a person believe one thing, when something else, sometimes the complete opposite, is the truth.

Young Christian man plans to redeem ‘Butler Mansion’ — Calgary’s notorious ‘house of murder!’

[by Dean Smith] Land has an unusual place in Scripture. It was God’s “Promised Land” that enticed Abraham to leave Ur and follow God’s calling. For the patriarch and his descendants, this new land would not only be a place of destiny, but blessing as well — overflowing with milk and honey. But it seems land can also be affected by the sinful actions of men and women who walk upon its soil. After Cain murdered his brother Abel, God said, “Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10 NASV). This verse suggests that when horrific crimes occur, the effects are embedded in the soil. In Leviticus 18:24-28, God speaks about the land being defiled by man’s sin. Filled with iniquity, it can reach a point where the land will vomit out its inhabitants. The “Promised Land” eventually did this very thing to Israel.

According to Google, Ouija boards will be a popular gift this Christmas?

[by Dean Smith] Google, the web’s largest internet search engine, is predicting Ouija boards will be a popular item this Christmas. Google is basing its prediction on search engine data requests. The number of search requests for Ouija or spiritual boards in November 2014 had increased by 300% since October leading Google to state in its commerce blog that the Ouija board will be “one of the hottest gifts likely to sell out this season.” It attributed the Ouija board’s renewed interest to the horror movie “Ouija” released in October. The Ouija board was the fifth most searched Christmas item behind American Girl, My Little Pony, Paw Patrol and Lego Friends. The Ouija board, invented in 1890, has letters and numbers imprinted on a board. It also comes with a pointing device (often heart-shaped) on which people place their hand. The participant asks a question and a spirit will answer the question by guiding the person’s hand to the letters on the board. The communicating spirits are generally believed to be those of dead people, …

The Manitoba Legislature: A beacon of the occult?

Frank Albo theorizes the legislature of Manitoba, a province in Canada, is a “beacon of the occult.” While many scoff at the notion, through years of research Albo collected evidence showing the building, which houses the provincial government in the city of Winnipeg, is not your typical building. Albo, who has researched eastern religions, says he was driving by the Manitoba legislature in 2001, when he noticed two stone sphinxes perched on the roof. These were clearly Egyptian icons and he wondered why such symbols would be on a building in the middle of Canada. His interest peaked, Albo started a five-year study of the building, which started construction in 1912 and completed in 1920, 300% over budget. As he poked around the immense structure, he realized it honored a number of ancient deities. At the same time, it incorporated many of the fundamental ideals of Freemasonry in its architecture. Not surprisingly, he discovered the chief designer of the building, Frank Simon, had been schooled in free masonry design techniques. Freemasonry combines elements of the temple …

Was Karl Marx and the rise of communism influenced by Satan?

In his book, Marx and Satan, Richard Wurmbrand (1909-2001) looked at the writings of Karl Marx (1818-1883), the founder of communism. Unknown to many, Karl Marx started out as a Christian. Wurmbrand notes those Christian inclinations in some of Marx’s earliest writings such as The Union of the Faithful with Christ where the father of Communism wrote: “Through love of Christ we turn our hearts at the same time toward our brethren who are inwardly bound to us and for whom he gave himself in sacrifice.” Those words are in stark contrast to what Marx would later write as he developed his communistic manifesto, he told the world: “The idea of God is the keynote of a perverted civilization. It must be destroyed.” Though we are uncertain when it happened and why it happened, at some point Karl Marx abandoned his Christian faith.

Satanic sacrifices on the doorsteps of Mesa churches?

Police are investigating a number of arson fires outside churches located in Mesa, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. According to an article on Charisma News, there have been six fires reported. Three were set in May at Mesa Baptist Church, two set in June at the East Mesa Christian Church and Pilgrim Lutheran Church and one in July at Calvary Baptist Church. It doesn’t seem these were deliberate attempts to set the churches on fire as they were set in front of church doors, but far enough back not to affect the building. The fires may have actually been a form of satanic sacrifice.

Uncovering the throne of Satan, Pt 2

In my earlier post, I discussed a passage in Revelation 2:12-13, that speaks of a specific place where Satan lived at that time in history — Pergamum (also written Pergamon). And to the angel of the church of Pergamum write: I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is and you hold fast My name and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where satan dwells (Revelation 2:12-13 NASV) The city was not only the dwelling place of Satan, but Satan’s throne was located there as well. At the time the Apostle John wrote Revelation, the city was home to a massive altar dedicated to Zeus. Some have suggested the Pergamum altar was in fact the throne of Satan referred to in Revelation. This altar simply manifested a spiritual reality — Pergamum was Satan’s capital. It is not a coincidence that in the natural realm Pergamum was also the capital of Asia. Satan’s presence in this key city gave him an …

The place where Satan lives? Pt 1

[by Dean Smith] In a December 2013 interview with The Guardian, a mortician named only as Lucas, living in San Pedro, Honduras said: “Satan himself lives here in San Pedro. People here kill people like they are nothing more than chickens.” With a population of only 900,000, the city averages 20 murders a day. This works out to a murder rate of 173 per 100,000 more than double the country’s national average which is 85.5 per 100,000. New York City in comparison has 3.5 murders/100,000. According to the article, San Pedro has the highest murder rate of any region in the world outside a war zone.

The Nazi poster girl for the Aryan race was actually Jewish

In a bizarre twist the poster child for Nazi Germany’s “Perfect Aryan Baby” during World War II was actually Jewish. The Nazis believed Aryans were the superior race and considered other groups such as the Jews, as sub-human. The Nazis used the photo to promote its supremest race agenda. Hessy Taft was just six months old in 1935, when her mother, Pauline Levinsons, took her to a famous German photographer Hans Ballin for a baby photo. Unknown to the family, Ballin later submitted Taft’s photo to a contest initiated by the Nazi party to find the perfect Aryan baby. It appears that Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi party’s propaganda minister, chose Hessy’s photo as the winning picture. The photo would later appear on posters, post cards and other Nazi propaganda materials.

Case of demon-possession in Mexico due to a Ouija Board?

In February, I reported on a case of demon possession that affected the Ammons family in Gary, Indiana. There were a number of significant manifestations (including walking up a wall and ceiling backwards) seen by police officers, medical professionals and welfare officials. There has recently been another incidence of possession reported in Mexico. Though not as documented as the earlier case, the three people involved experienced many of the same manifestations as the family affected in Gary, Indiana including growling. Three Americans, Alexandra Huerta, 22, and her brother Sergio, 23, and their cousin Fernando Cuevas, 18, were playing on a Ouija board in a home in the village of San Juan Tiacotenco in southern Mexico.

How the spiritual realm interacts with our physical world

I was mowing the lawn in our backyard, when a memory popped into my mind of a stupid thing I had done years earlier. I had previously asked God to forgive me, but here it was alive and well condemning me. Where do these thoughts come from? For a clearer insight, we need to study an incident that occurred along the banks of the Tigris River in the ancient realm of Persia around 600 BC.

Reported case of demon possession in Gary, Indiana parallels Biblical accounts

The case of demonic possession reported in Gary, Indiana seems like it was a long, lost script from the Exorcist, except in this case the demonic actions were witnessed by secular members of society — police officers, medical staff (including a doctor) and welfare officials. Some of the strange happenings included a child walking up the wall backwards which was seen by a Registered Nurse and a manager for Indiana’s Department of Child Services (DCS). The case involves Latoya Ammons and her three children, a girl 12, and two boys aged 9 and 7 all of whom were reportedly possessed by evil spirits.

Did a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 horror flick, ‘The Birds’, descend on the Vatican?

Taking a page out of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic horror flick, The Birds, a seagull and a crow attacked two doves released by the Vatican on January 26, 2014 before tens of thousands of people in Vatican Square. Referred to as the Pope’s caravan of peace, two children, a boy and a girl, released the doves as part of the Angelus Prayer. The Pope was calling for peace in the Ukraine where violence has erupted from people protesting the countries growing ties with Russia. The dove often portrays the Holy Spirit in Scripture and the two were set free from a window in the Vatican as a symbolic gesture of the prayer. Almost immediately, the two doves were viciously attacked.

What the devil sees

In the book of Zechariah, the prophet relays a series of visions that give brief glimpses into the spiritual realm. However, there is one that does more than that. It not only tears away the veil covering the spiritual realm, it also shows how angels and demons view people in the natural world. They see us differently. In chapter 3:1, the prophet Zechariah notices Joshua — who was the high priest in Jerusalem — standing before the Angel of the Lord. Zechariah also observed Satan standing at Joshua’s right hand uttering a barrage of accusations against the High Priest.

Regular marijuana usage causes brain abnormalities and memory loss in teens

According to research out of the U.S., teens who smoke marijuana daily can have brain abnormalities similar to people with schizophrenia. With the push towards legalization of marijuana, researchers from Illinois’ Northwest University wanted a clearer picture of the drug’s impact on a person’s brain.  The results were published in the Schizophrenia Bulletin. This is an important study as marijuana is proving a popular drug among teens. Surveys show 40% of English teens have used marijuana.  In the U.S., it is the most popular drug among young adults.
