Is the spiritual battle getting real? What is going on with music?

Christians have talked about spiritual warfare in the past, but there are indications it is starting to get very real.

Shane Lynch, 47, is a singer and TV personality from Ireland. He is most famous for having been a member of the Boyzone, which was a popular boy band in the 1990s.

Shane became a Christian in 2003, and according to an article in New Life, as a teenager, he “was frequently visited by grotesque evil spirits who tortured his mind and left him paralyzed.” This resulted in him consulting psychics and mediums, who left him believing that “he was possessed by an evil spirit.”

So with some familiarity with the satanic realm, in a recent interview with Ireland’s Sunday World, Shane warned that he is starting to see demonic influences in music.

He specifically cited Taylor Swift, and Shane suggested she is actually “performing satanic rituals” during her concerts.

“You’ll see a lot of hoods up and masks on and fire ceremonies,” Shane said. “Even down to Taylor Swift — one of the biggest artists in the world — you watch one of her shows and she has two or three different demonic rituals to do with the pentagrams on the ground, to do with all sorts of stuff on her stage.”

But Shane adds that many people don’t understand what is going on adding, “To a lot of people it’s just art and that’s how people are seeing it, unfortunately.”

This is not the first time that these accusations have surfaced about Taylor Swift, who is arguably one of the most popular singers today.

“In her [Swift’s] 2020 ‘Willow’ music video, she is shown observing an occult ritual and previously said the song ‘sounds like casting a spell to make someone fall in love with you,’” writes Katelyn Webb in an article for the Christian Post.

If the allegations are true, these demonic influences are concerning because Shane says that music can have a profound impact because it “attaches to your emotions. It has a connection to your spirit and how you feel.”

“When it comes to a lot of the music that’s out there at the moment — more of the hip-hop side of things — there is a lot of hidden Satanic and a lot of evil within them, including down to the beats. It’s very real,” Shane added.

He stated that in the past, he had personally seen people performing ‘satanic rituals’ to ensure the success of their music.

And of course, many suggested that the 2023 Grammy Awards were little more than a tribute to Satan because of Sam Smith’s performance.

However, we shouldn’t be surprised about the satanic influence in music.

Many believe that one of Ezekiel’s prophecies starts off as a condemnation of the King of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:12-15) but takes a dramatic turn, and begins to describe Satan.

This is because the prophet states, “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty” and then adds “You were in Eden, the garden of God.”

This could no longer be describing the King of Tyre, because there were only three in the Garden of Eden, Adam, Eve, and of course the Serpent or Satan.

The verse implies that the King of Tyre was so heavily influenced by the Satanic realm, that speaking to one was the same as speaking to the other.

But then the prophet goes on to describe Satan and talks about “The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes” in verse 13.

Though there is disagreement on what this is referring to, the Hebrew word ‘tĂ´ph’ refers to a ‘timbrel’ and ‘The rhythmic beating of a tambourine’ (see Exodus 15:20). And with this context, the word ‘pipes’ could be referring to flutes or that type of musical instrument.

The sense from this verse is that Satan, who is referred to as the “anointed cherub” (verse 14), was designed to lead worship in the heavenly realm.

However, once he fell, dragging a third of the angels with him, that role completely changed. But Satan did not lose those inherent musical abilities that he was created with, and some wonder if he now uses them to influence music on earth.
