Stating that he was graced by their presence, Arizona Senator Juan Mendez welcomed a group of Satanists to the state capitol on Wed., Feb 7, 2024, the Post Millennial reports.

Mendez, who was wearing a mask as he spoke, added that members of the Satanic Temple of Arizona were there “to confront the arbitrary, tyrannical authority of religious persecution that’s scheduled for government committee later on today.”

“We are graced with the presence of ministers and members of the Satanic Temple of Arizona,” Mendez added.

The Satanists were participating in a committee meeting at the Arizona legislature, and one member of the group clearly summed up his remarks with the proclamation: ‘Hail Satan.’

It is one thing to say that Freedom of Religion provides Satanists the same rights as any other religious group, but it is clearly another matter to actually promote the group.

Without a doubt, satanism has been coming out of the woodwork around the world in recent years. Its level of acceptance that we are witnessing, both culturally and now politically, may explain how the world will eventually reach the point where it will willingly embrace and worship the antichrist.

12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. (Revelation 13:12 NIV)

Maybe it is just a coincidence, but a 17-foot statue of the Greek goddess, Nike, has been perched on top of the Arizona state capitol and its various renderings since 1901.

According to Greek mythology, Nike was considered an attendant to both the gods Zeus and Athena.

Most suspect, that the throne of Satan that the Apostle John said existed in the city of Pergamon (Revelation 2:12-13), was a reference to the massive (116’/36 meter) wide altar in that city dedicated to Zeus and Athena, now on display at the Pergamon museum in Germany.

    Dean,

Your article failed to address the contradiction that the tweet from AZSenateRepublicans said: “Juan Mendez, shows his support for worshiping the devil…” But the clip says the Satanists don’t believe in the devil.

    • Thanks for your comment, I am aware that the leaders of the organization have stated that they do not believe in Satan, but others take it more seriously. Oxygen.com reports that in a recent video describing their group, one member of the Satanic Temple quipped, “When I tell people that I don’t actually believe in an actual, literal Satan, they’re almost disappointed and upset.” Even by that quip, it is obvious there are people who take Satanism very seriously. There have been several articles in recent years of the increasing interest in satanism and witchcraft around the world. While some would argue it is harmless fun, others would say it is not. I obviously fall on the latter side.
