Democrat senator welcomes Satanists to Arizona state capitol

Stating that he was graced by their presence, Arizona Senator Juan Mendez welcomed a group of Satanists to the state capitol on Wed., Feb 7, 2024, the Post Millennial reports. Mendez, who was wearing a mask as he spoke, added that members of the Satanic Temple of Arizona were there “to confront the arbitrary, tyrannical authority of religious persecution that’s scheduled for government committee later on today.” “We are graced with the presence of ministers and members of the Satanic Temple of Arizona,” Mendez added. The Satanists were participating in a committee meeting at the Arizona legislature, and one member of the group clearly summed up his remarks with the proclamation: ‘Hail Satan.’ It is one thing to say that Freedom of Religion provides Satanists the same rights as any other religious group, but it is clearly another matter to actually promote the group. Without a doubt, satanism has been coming out of the woodwork around the world in recent years. Its level of acceptance that we are witnessing, both culturally and now politically, may explain …

China’s ‘Mayflower Church’ finds a home in a Texas church

A church in Texas has provided a home for the Shenzhen Holy Reformed Church, also called the Mayflower Church, the Christian Post reports. First Baptist Church of Midland campus in Midland, Texas has agreed to allow the church to use its youth facilities three times a week. The church members, who are learning English and finding jobs in America, broke down in tears after hearing the news. Over sixty members of the house church fled Communist China in 2019 because of the increasing persecution of its members and leaders. They initially sought asylum in South Korea, but were eventually refused admission by the government, after a South Korean court rejected their asylum request. Many suspect the South Korean government had been pressured by Chinese Communist officials. In March 2023, the group flew to Bangkok, Thailand hoping to set up a home there, but were immediately arrested by Thai police because their visas had expired. There were initially fears that the group would be forced to return to China. However, with the help of the Thailand …

Western Wall, Jerusalem, Israel

Why the decision by Argentina President Javier Milei to pray at Jerusalem’s Western Wall is so significant

Argentina’s newly elected president, Javier Milei, recently visited Israel where he announced the country would be moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Breitbart reports. But equally significant, a video has also surfaced of President Milei praying at Jerusalem’s Western Wall. His decision to pray at the wall, similar to what former US President, Donald Trump did in 2017, tells the world that he believes Jerusalem is under Israel’s sovereignty. Such gestures are important. Despite Jerusalem being part of Israel’s history and heritage for thousands of years, Islam, which only emerged in 610 AD, believes the ancient city belongs to Muslims. In fact, there is an actual page on Wikipedia that discusses the Islamization of Jerusalem. The ancient city is not only home to Islam’s third-holiest site, incredibly some Muslims believe the Jews have no historical claim to Jerusalem.

Will a muon detector uncover the secret hiding place of the Ark of the Covenant?

One of the Bible’s biggest mysteries involves the disappearance of Israel’s Ark of the Covenant. It was the most important piece of furniture in the Jewish Temple, as the very presence of God rested between the two golden cherubim located on top of a box. However, it disappeared around 587 BC when the Babylonians sacked Jerusalem, destroyed the temple, and hauled the temple furniture off to Babylon. The ancient writers even provided a list of items taken to Babylon and, mysteriously, the Ark of the Covenant was not on the list (2 Kings 25:13-16). This leads many to speculate that the Jewish priests had hidden it before Jerusalem’s fall. It may have even been stashed away in the same spot, the Ark was hidden three centuries earlier when the Egyptians stormed Jerusalem and sacked the Temple, hauling off its furniture. The Bible’s writers listed all the items taken and, similar to what happened with the Babylonians, the Ark of the Covenant was not on the list (2 Chronicles 12:1-9). But after the Egyptian threat was …

Tortured Pakistani Christians forced to convert to Islam under threat of death

Pakistani police have arrested a Muslim cleric and an associate after the families of two Christian men allege they were tortured and forced to convert to Islam, Evangelical Focus reports. According to the report, on Jan. 22, 2024, two brothers, Azam and Nadeem Masih, were abducted at gunpoint and then beaten with iron rods until they recited the Kalima, which is the Islamic conversion creed. The kidnappers, who threatened the men with death if they didn’t convert, then forced the brothers to state on video that their conversion to Islam was voluntary. The two men were then warned that they should not contact the police about what happened to them. The two brothers came from a poor Christian family, and fearing for their lives, the family did not report the incident to police. The news only came to light, when members of a Pakistani Christian organization, Movement for Christian Awakening, found out about what happened. They convinced the family to go to the police, stating that failure to do so, would only embolden the alleged …

37% of Americans believe aliens from outer space are living among us, survey finds

According to a survey paid for by WealthofGeeks.com and conducted by Talker Research, 37% of Americans believe that there are aliens from outer space secretly living on Earth, the NY Post reports. But they are disguised, and 39% are convinced that their boss is one of them. (A bit of tongue in cheek here, as more Americans believe their boss is an alien, than those who actually believe Aliens are secretly living on Earth.) Another 33% think these aliens could be disguised as celebrities. On the other side of the alien belief spectrum, 41% do not believe aliens are living among us, while the remaining 22% are unsure. Meanwhile, the same poll found that over half of Americans, 53%, believe that aliens do exist, while only 34% do not. Aliens were big news in 2023. Along with the US government holding committee meetings to discuss UFOs, we had: All this alien news led me to produce three podcasts on aliens. The first asks, how are Christians to respond if aliens are real? Did you know …
