A recent YouGov poll in Britain has uncovered some disturbing statistics about teenagers, as many are very concerned about their future, Premier Christian News reports.

The poll of 14 to 17-year-olds found that 55% believed that by the time they reach the age of 30, their lives would be worse off than their parents. An additional 9% stated they felt a sense of hopelessness about their future.

The issues that are concerning them include job prospects, finances, and climate change.

“Everyone is struggling these days. My mum struggles to pay the bills, and she’s a nurse with a master’s degree,” one teenager said. “I’m not that clever, so imagine my life will be harder than hers. We used to be able to go on holidays, but mum can’t afford it anymore.”

Another unidentified teenager said that his/her parents bought their first home at age 21, but doesn’t believe those in his generation will be able to do this.

Some suggest this is one of the first generations to believe they will be worse off than their parents.
