‘Devil has Risen’: Is Satanism starting to emerge from the dark shadows?

As we grow closer to the Second coming of Christ, at one point both Satan and the satanically empowered antichrist, also known as the beast, will demand worship and equally surprisingly people will give it (Revelation 13:1-8).

But this is not going to occur in a vacuum.

People are not going to wake up one morning shocked by media headlines demanding they worship the beast.

In the lead-up to that, I believe Satan will initiate a campaign to move out of the shadows into the mainstream.

And we are increasingly seeing examples of this.

The latest is satanic graffiti being sprayed on the outside walls of Jesus Worship Center, in Jennings, Louisiana, Faithwire reports.

Aside from the usual pentagrams and upside-down crosses, the vandals also spray-painted the words ‘Satan Has Risen’ in large red letters on one of the church’s walls.

Clifton Lejeune pastors Jesus Worship Center and I appreciated his response to the vandalism which also included some expletives painted on the church’s sidewalk.

“This is a minor scrimmage, but it is a spiritual battle,” Lejeune said in an interview with KATC-TV. “This isn’t about buildings, and it’s not about vandals for us, because we believe and preach that we are not physical beings, but spiritual beings housed in physical bodies.”

The church is becoming more prominent in the community as it has set up a ministry dedicated to helping former inmates and those recovering from drug and alcohol addictions.

Jesus is setting the captives free and this undoubtedly has made the church a target for the satanic realm.

Not only are Satanists boldly expressing their opposition to Christianity, but we see it emerging in other ways as well.

Britain’s University of Exeter recently announced that it has set up a Master’s program in Magic and Occult Science. Strangely the degree is being offered through the Arab and Islamic Studies school, Breitbart reports.

Exeter is the first British university to offer a master’s program dedicated to the study of the occult.

The program’s arrival may reflect “the rise of interest in the occult in the increasingly post-Christian West,” writes Oliver JJ Lane in his article for Breitbart.

The two-year master’s degree will cost £24,300 ($29,750) and according to the program’s website will “Build interdisciplinary expertise whilst exploring your specific interests within the long and diverse history of esotericism, witchcraft, ritual magic, occult science, and related topics.”
