Over the years, hundreds of people have reported being abducted by aliens or experiencing nightmarish dreams about UFO encounters.
In a recent article for the Christian Post, Pastor Dan Delzell discussed what some believe really takes place during these abductions.
These are actually encounters with demonic beings that can be stopped by simply calling on Christ.
Delzell specifically cited Joseph Jordan who studied over 600 reported cases of alien abductions.
“Abduction experiences are not physical experiences in which people are taken aboard craft, but spiritual, visionary experiences in which people are made to think that this is what has happened to them,” Jordan concluded. “The abduction experience is a simulation rather than a real situation.”
In other words, these are not natural, but spiritual encounters. But this leaves a bigger question, why is this happening?
“The purpose of these experiences is to draw people away from Jesus Christ through the denigration of Christianity,” Jordan explained. “Those who are susceptible to the abduction simulation are those who are involved in the New Age and the occult … the only thing that stops the abduction simulation is when the experiencer calls upon Jesus Christ for help.”
This is the same conclusion that retired FBI Special Agent, John DeSouza came to after his investigation of UFO abductions.
“These abductions are stopped by only one thing … by claiming the blood and the authority of Jesus Christ,” De Souza said. “They get stopped dead in their tracks, and we have seen it over and over again.”
Delzell points out that during many of these encounters, these alleged aliens often attack the very foundations of Christian beliefs.
He quoted Dr. Walter Martin who founded the Christian Research Institute.
“The people who are involved in contact with UFOs invariably say that the occupants of these ships talk to them about the truth of reincarnation and about universal salvation for all mankind,” Martin said.
“They do not believe that the Bible alone is God’s Word to the world. They do not believe in punishment. They do not believe in resurrection,” Martin added. “They believe instead in reincarnation, and that man in himself can evolve from planet to planet to perfection … what you are dealing with is a theology opposed to Christianity.”
Perhaps the most famous alien encounter in the last century involved the supposed abduction of a New Hampshire couple, Betty and Barney Hill in September 1961.
They had been vacationing in Niagara Falls. As they were driving home late at night on a rural road, they saw an object flying erratically above their car.
They got out of the vehicle to look at it. Barney, who was using binoculars, initially thought it was an airliner, but Betty wasn’t convinced. She believed it was a UFO because her sister had reported seeing a flying saucer a few years earlier.
After they returned to their vehicle and drove away, the UFO followed them. They stopped again and got out. The UFO was now much closer. Using his binoculars, Barney said that he saw human-like beings peering out of the rotating craft.
One of them communicated a message to Barney, “stay where you are and keep looking.” Terrified by what was taking place, the Hills fled back to the car and quickly drove away.
The UFO allegedly followed them. The last thing they heard was a beeping sound, before they awakened hours later inside their vehicle just outside Concord, New Hampshire.
They had no recall of what happened to them during those missing hours.
After reporting the incident to the police, US Airforce, and the now defunct, National Investigations Committee On Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), their story was on the front page of newspapers around the world.
Betty would later experience vivid dreams about the incident. This along with follow-up hypnosis sessions suggested that during those missing hours the two had been abducted and examined by the aliens.
Movies, documentaries and books were written about the incident. Today, there is actually a marker on the road indicating the spot where the Hills first sighted the UFO.
But one of the insidious messages hidden in these abduction stories is the belief in advanced alien life on other planets. Because, this supports the theory of evolution, that contradicts the Biblical message, that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.
