Usually, stories about state-sponsored psychological manipulation and propaganda are reserved for tyrannical, communist regimes like North Korea, but apparently, that is no longer the case, The Blaze reports.
A while back, Canada’s federal government posted a job opening for someone to carry out psychological operations training for Canada’s military.
The position would be officially known as PSYOPS and the individual would be responsible for training people in the dark arts of state-sponsored psychological control and propaganda.
The person who gets the job would study the best examples of this type of mind manipulation from other governments, presumably Iran, North Korea, Russia, and the Chinese Communist Party.
Then they would then have the opportunity to provide test training programs for those involved in the program.
Here is the official job description from the federal government’s website: PSYOPS Officer

And in 2021, the Ottawa Citizen reported this disturbing incident involving Canada’s military and a forged letter written by its propaganda office:
The Canadian Forces wants to establish a new organization that will use propaganda and other techniques to try to influence the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of Canadians, according to documents obtained by this newspaper.
The plan comes on the heels of the Canadian Forces spending more than $1 million to train public affairs officers on behaviour modification techniques of the same sort used by the parent firm of Cambridge Analytica, as well as a controversial and bizarre propaganda training mission in which the military forged letters from the Nova Scotia government to warn the public that wolves were wandering in the province.
