This is an election year in the United States, and history is being remembered that most of us forgot.
Planned Parenthood is an organization that promotes access to abortions, and offers abortions in many clinics. In this year of “Black Lives Matter” the history of the founder Margaret Sanger has been remembered. She advocated for eugenics, guided evolution through population control, and she was quoted “We must make this country into a garden of children instead of a disorderly back lot overrun with human weeds.”
Apparently the founder spoke to a women’s group of the Klu Klux Klan, in 1926, and there is suspicion about her advocating for more access to abortions and birth control, in black communities.
This history has been revived by Kanye West, a black rapper and a Christian, who said Planned Parenthood has “been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.” This is an explosive debate, and we can expect to hear more arguments.
