So what happens next? Putins project of war

The whole world knows that Ukraine has been in turmoil for several months, and recently the Crimea region of Ukraine was occupied and annexed by Russia. Many Ukrainians have criticized other nations, because they have “helped” with only criticism and mild sanctions against Russia. The pattern of aggression from Russia resembles Nazi Germany’s expansion at the beginning of World War II and there is real potential for the crisis to become a serious war. The situation is scary, and some Christians have wondered if this is the beginning of the end and if Vladimir Putin is the Antichrist. So should we be afraid? There are at least two things we should know:

Will North America’s Great Lakes completely freeze over this year?

Jay Austin believes they will. Austin is an associate professor at the Large Lakes Observatory in Duluth, Minn. Many consider him an expert on Great Lakes’ freezing. In an interview with CNSNews.com, Austin says Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes, will completely freeze over this winter due  to the “extraordinary cold weather.” At 31,700 square-miles in size, Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes and the slowest of the five lakes to ice over. The previous record freeze over for Lake Superior was set February 5, 1994 when ice coverage reached 91%.  As of February 10, 2014, ice coverage on Lake Superior was 87.1%.

Blood moons, a sign of the times?

“I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke The sun will be turned to darkness And the moon to blood Before the great and awesome Day of The Lord comes (Joel 2:30, 31 NASV) [by Dean Smith] In the Book of Joel, the prophet, peering into the future about the coming Day of The Lord or end times, saw it would be marked by three unusual events. One of those involves the moon turning to blood, commonly called a blood moon. The others seem to be an eclipse of the sun and an earthly event marked by ‘blood (death), fire and columns of smoke’.

End time plagues: How easily and quickly they can happen

It was frightening how easily it happened and Canada’s medical and scientific community was powerless to stop it. Dr. James Talbot, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, reported North America’s first fatal case of H5N1 (a lethal bird flu) in Alberta, Canada on January 3, 2014. H5N1 is a deadly disease transmitted via contact with birds — alive or dead — and can include under-cooked bird meat and even bird feces. The death rate for H5N1 is nearly 60%.

Mark of the beast, a cross-country race and November 11th

When Codie Thacker received her bib with the number she would represent in the race, it  sickened her. Her coach, Gina Croley, aware of Codie’s Christian faith, knew immediately there was trouble. Codie attends Whitley County High School in Williamsburg, KY. She was racing in a regional cross-country race — the winner would move on to the state championship. The number Codie received — 666 — represented the Mark of the Beast or Antichrist mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

Does Holland’s blood-red water forewarn of end time events?

The water in a canal in Nootdorp, Holland turned blood red and it left some residents wondering about its symbolism. The Book of Revelation speaks of cataclysmic events that will mark the Second Coming of Christ. The Apostle John’s end times visions prophesied that oceans and rivers would turn blood red: The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood. (Revelation 16:3-4 NASV) An earlier verse in chapter 8 verse 8 says up to a third of the oceans will be affected. This implies not all the water will turn red, but obviously a significant amount and certainly enough to catch everyone’s attention. In perhaps a precursor to this end time event, there are stories of water turning blood red in different parts of the world. The latest was in Nootdorp, Holland.

Sir Isaac Newton predicted world would end in 2060 AD

Most know Sir Isaac Newton as the father of modern science. Newton who died in 1727 is considered among the world’s most influential scientists. He formulated the law of gravity and the law of motion thereby explaining the movement of the planets, moons and stars due to gravitational pull of larger bodies. It radically transformed man’s approach to astronomy. But Newton was also an ardent Christian and had a tremendous interest in end-times theology. He spent hours researching the Bible on the second coming of Jesus Christ. This curious side of Newton was unveiled in a display of Newton’s writings at the University of Jerusalem entitled “Newton’s Secrets.” It was an odd combination — Hebrew scholars analyzing Christian prophecy. A truckload of Newton’s writings and letters — located in the house of the Earl of Portsmouth one of Newton’s heirs — was auctioned off in 1936. English economist John Maynard Keynes purchased the document and then willed them to King’s college in England and to Abraham Shalom Yahuda, a Jewish Oriental studies scholar. The later bequeathed …

Is Robert Downey Jr interested in Biblical end-times?

Robert Downey Jr is one of my favourite actors. I enjoyed his roles as Tom Stark in the Iron Man series and as Sherlock Holmes. Sometime back, Downey  was being interviewed by Jon Stewart on The Daily Show, when he made this surprising statement in response to Stewart’s question on optimism: “Here’s what I heard.” Downey said. “This was a discussion between a Russian military guy and Chuck Missler, who’s a Christian. … Love Chuck. … He asked the Russian guy is there hope for Western civilization,” “The Russian guy said you have to understand the difference between an optimist and a pessimist.

Famous Jewish Rabbi codes Jesus as the Messiah

When Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri died in January 2006 over 200,000 people lined the streets of Jerusalem to watch his funeral procession. He was one of the most famous rabbis in Israel at the time. Born around 1900 his age was estimated to be between 106 and 108 at his passing. Shortly before his death, Kaduri did something very mysterious. He wrote a message on a piece of paper, sealed it, and told his followers they must wait until a year after his death before opening it. The note, he said, would reveal the name of the Jewish Messiah. And on top of that, the old Rabbi told his supporters the message was written in code. Incredibly, when the letter was opened in February 2007, Kaduri declared Jesus Christ the Messiah of the Jews. Kaduri the Kabbalist Kaduri was a Kabbalist — a mystic Jew. The Kabbalah are considered by many to be holders of the secrets of the Jewish faith. Much of their beliefs are derived from two books — the Zohar and Sefer Yezirah — said to …
