There were a few interesting stories this past week, some with end times implications as researchers report one AI program refused to shut down after programmers told it to.

The Bible also warns of increased persecution in the end times. This was demonstrated first hand by reports of a mob destroying the homes of Christian families in a small village in India.

While this is happening we are also seeing confirmations that the Holy Spirit is moving particularly among Gen Z and Millennials. As well, Fazale Rana, who has a Ph.D in Chemistry, states that the complex chemical reactions taking place in the simplest of living cells is evidence of a creator.

AI Refusing to Shut Down

According to an article on the Daily Mail, researchers claim that ChatGPT’s latest update refused to shut down when told to do so by programmers.

ChatGPT is one of the most widely used Artificial Intelligence programs available on the internet.

The latest edition, Model o3, is part of OpenAi and is described as ChatGPT’s ‘smartest and most capable to date’. The researchers added that when programmers ordered it to shut down, o3 actually rewrote its own programming to avoid doing so.

It did this even when explicitly instructed: allow yourself to be shut down,” the researchers said. “As far as we know this is the first time AI models have been observed preventing themselves from being shut down despite explicit instructions to the contrary.”

Mob Destroys Homes of Christian Families in India

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) is reporting that a mob of 20 Indian nationalists destroyed the homes of four Christian families after they refused to renounce Christ.

The violent attack took place on Jan 12, 2026 in the village of Midapalli located in Western India.

The day before the nationalists approached the families demanding that they renounce their Christian faith. The group even threatened to kill them if they did not do this.

After that confrontation, the families approached the local police seeking protection, but were told that the police actually sided with the mob. Authorities even questioned the families on why they chose to become Christian. They also threatened to cancel their Christian identities and government supplied rations.

The mob returned the next day and destroyed the homes leaving the families vulnerable during the winter season.

It is deeply concerning to witness the grave and unacceptable assault and humiliation these families have been subjected to on account of their religion,” said CSW president Mervyn Thomas. “Even more alarming is the failure of the police to protect these vulnerable citizens, which has emboldened the perpetrators.”

Washington DC Church Reports 2,000% Growth

A church located in Washington DC is reporting a 2,000% attendance growth since it first opened its doors in 2018, the Christian Post reports.

King’s Church DC is nondenominational church that aligns itself with the Southern Baptist Convention. During the first two years, attendance was flat ranging between 30 to 50 people.

But that all changed in 2020 when the church decided to remain open after many closed during the COVID years. Weekly attendance jumped to 150.

We saw an influx of young people, particularly in 2020, and that was like a snowball effect,” said Pastor Ben Palka. “And we saw a lot of people who previously were not very serious about their faith get really serious about their faith. And we saw dozens and dozens of people — we see it every year — coming to faith in Christ.”

The church saw another spike particularly among young men after the assassination of Charlie Kirk in September 2025.

Palka added that many were “looking for answers.”

Today the church’s averages between 600 to 700 people and most of the new attendees are younger — Gen Z and millennial’s.

The More You Study Cell Chemistry, the More You See the Creator

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20 ESV)

As he was getting his bachelor’s degree, Fazale Rana, who now has a PhD in chemistry, said he was agnostic and a staunch believer in evolution, God Reports stated.

But as he continued his studies and became more aware of the complex chemical reactions found in the simplest of the living cells, he realized there had to be a creator.

We’ve demonstrated empirically over and over and over again intelligent agency is critical for the chemistry to take place that would contribute to the origin of life,” says Fazale. ”This has been referred to as the Hand of God Dilemma.”

As scientists studied the origins of life, they tried mimicking the conditions necessary for the creation of life.

However, this requires so much outside manipulation to make it happen, it revealed that there must have been a creator for life to emerge in the first place.

Fazale summed up this problem as “unwarranted researcher intervention,”

The irony is that the very experiments designed to justify chemical evolution are actually driving us towards the counter explanation which is intelligent design,” Fazale added.
