The Satanic Temple (TST), based in Salem, Massachusetts, recently announced it will be opening an abortion clinic in that city to help perform abortions as part of a religious ritual, the Christian Post (CP) reports.
According to a TST’s news release, the facility named “Right to Your Life Satanic Abortion Clinic” will sell abortion drugs to women seeking the procedure. The drugs will basically induce a miscarriage and are typically administered to women up to 12 weeks of pregnancy.
TST adds that it provides online counseling to women wanting to use the drugs, including potential side effects, and as well information on the location of the nearest medical facilities.
While this type of abortion procedure results in heavy bleeding, many have have expressed concerns about the potential health risks associated with the use of abortion drugs.
A TST spokesperson told CP that the organization received financial donations to help set up the clinic and added in its news release, that the TST may provide financial travel assistance to women wanting to use its services.
After the US Supreme Court ruled against Roe and Wade in June 2022, the TST opened its first “religious abortion clinic” clinic in New Mexico in early 2023 declaring that abortions were now included as one of TST’s religious rites.
The clinic called, “Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic”, has provided drugs for 100 procedures since its opening at a cost of $91 each.
The clinic was named after US Supreme Court Justice, Samuel Alito who has been consistently anti-abortion. In 2023 when the Supreme Court approved the sale of abortion drugs in America, Alito voted against that decision.
It seems shocking today for abortion to be considered a religious rite.
However, children were being sacrificed as part of religious ceremonies in ancient Israel centuries earlier.
The Hebrews encountered the hideous practice when they entered the Promised Land about 3,500 years ago as the Canaanites were sacrificing their children to an idol called Moloch or Molech.
The idol was made of hollowed out metal and had a fire set inside. The young children were then set on the arms of the idol, and slid into the flame.
According to ancient reports, the priests in charge of the sacrifice would lead the people in loud singing and chants to drown out the sound of screaming children.
There are several prohibitions against the practice found throughout the Old Testament that specifically refer to Moloch.
They built the high places of Baal that are in the Valley of Ben-hinnom to make their sons and their daughters pass through the fire to Molech, which I had not commanded them, nor had it entered My mind that they should do this abomination, to mislead Judah to sin.. (Jeremiah 32:35 NASV)
However, many other passages just reference the practice with the phrase, passing through the fire (2 Kings 16:3).
