Are you woke, or base? I am learning more about these terms, and they are interesting. We could use the older terms “left wing” and “right wing” but I believe most of us could not define those positions, in one sentence. Definitions are emotional, these days.
The question really is, what tribe do you belong to? For you, which side is always right? And who is wrong, before they even speak?
We are polarized by in our modern society.
With polarized sides, and conspiracy theories, what happens if you believe in something spiritual? What side is God on, woke or base? I am a Christian, and for me, “spiritual” means God, and we find our way back to God through someone named Jesus.
So, what does God think about Covid vaccines? Is God a Socialist, or a Capitalist? Does God approve of fifteen minute cities? What about climate change or global warming; yes or no?
Is there any place for God in Hollywood? And for Americans, Republican or Democrat, and God? Other countries have their own political divide.
I have my opinions, and you have yours, just like everyone. I try to be careful; there are some things I will not talk about with some people. I know that conversations can blow up and friendships can be strained, these days.
In Hollywood, there is a tradition that the people who get all the attention tell the rest of us how to live, and what side to choose in our woke-base debate. Hollywood celebrities are famous for this. They are also famous for being loose and liberal with personal morals.
The “majority” voices are really the ones who control the microphones.
Do you remember the television shows “Cheers” and ”Frasier”? One followed the other and they both had a leading character, Frasier Crane. The actor behind that character is Kelsey Grammer, a very successful and popular actor. He is still famous, and he has lived a Hollywood lifestyle. Apparently he had problems with drug and alcohol addiction, and I think he is on his fourth marriage. And apparently, he is happily married now.
I expect that celebrities like Kelsey Grammer are a part of our modern world, and they are probably on the progressive, woke, leftist side of the divide. Probably, but there are exceptions.
It’s hard to imagine anything outside of the two polarized sides, but Kelsey Grammer has found a third way:
It seems that he has a new person to bring to any debate. He made a connection with God, through Jesus, and he lives a different life now.
This is a third voice, in our polarized world. Whatever the argument is, we should know who we bring to the debate.
It might surprise us to know how many celebrities, those who dominate our attention, have made a spiritual change in themselves. This includes Kelsey Grammer, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and others:
It is interesting how many Hollywood celebrities have chosen the third option. They find God and change their own character.
It’s a lesson we could all learn.
By abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace. (Ephesians 2:15)
