After being conned and intimidated by the environmental fanatics, France hopes to have all its nuclear reactors restarted by winter.
According to France24, the country had shut down 32 of its 56 reactors. For the record, France relies on nuclear for 67% of its electricity. Only 7% of its electricity comes from natural gas, meaning the Russian-Ukraine war was having a minimal impact.
Somehow, the environmental extremists convinced French politicians to include nuclear in their fight to lower CO2 emissions.
Despite this, there are still concerns that there will be energy rationing this winter, as French politicians have embraced unreliable and expensive solar and wind power.
French citizens may yet face rolling blackouts, where they will not have electricity for two hours at a time during the winter. Many French citizens use electricity to heat their homes.
Electricity rationing in Colorado?
A few days ago, an electricity provider in Colorado, allegedly prevented over 22,000 from turning on their air conditioners due to what some described as an ‘energy emergency.’
According to Yahoo News:
Colorado resident Tony Talarico told the Denver Channel that he was met with an “energy emergency” alert when he tried to cool down his partner’s house. “I mean, it was 90 out, and it was right during the peak period,” Talarico said. “It was hot.”
“Normally, when we see a message like that, we’re able to override it,” he continued. “In this case, we weren’t. So, our thermostat was locked in at 78 or 79.” Other Xcel users reported on social media that they also were unable to turn up the air conditioning.
Note, the Colorado residents affected had previously signed up for a program allowing the energy company to control their thermostats.
