PBS reporter Margaret Hoover was disappointed when you couldn’t get Ai Weiwei to answer her leading question on a warning sign about creeping totalitarianism in the US.
Ai WeiWei, 64, is a Chinese artist and activist who has been very critical of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) human rights abuses and corruption. He has been arrested several times by the CCP because of his criticism of the anti-democratic regime.
In this interview, Hoover was trying to have WeiWei state there were similarities between the CCP’s infamous mass murderer and dictator, Mao Zedong and former US President Donald Trump.
The pro-democracy activist had a slightly different response.
