In his book, The Angels Among Us, scheduled for release in November, Dr. Marc Siegel said that a survey of medical doctors found that 70 percent believe in God, while 55 percent said they had witnessed a miracle in their practice.

So it shouldn’t surprise us that Dr. Forrest Moore described Gabe Poirot’s remarkable healing as “nothing short of a miracle”, according to CBN.

Moore is the vice chief of surgery at the hospital where Gabe was taken after suffering a traumatic brain injury while riding his electric skateboard. Gabe, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was skateboarding with a friend, John Michael, when he hit something in the road and was sent headfirst into the pavement.

He immediately lost consciousness, but something unusal happened.

Gabe said that his spirit left his body. As he soared upward, he looked down and saw his friend John praying for him. Gabe said he was then drawn toward a light above him.

“I immediately knew that I was being suctioned up to an appointment with Him,” Gabe said. “It was like this city of pure glory, pure light, pure love. But then as the closer I got to the center of the city, He was – He was there waiting for me. Seeing Him changed everything.”

Back on earth, Gabe was already on a respirator when he arrived at the hospital. Dr. Moore said they immediately recognized that Gabe had suffered a traumatic brain injury, and put him in an induced coma to give his brain time to heal.

But due to the seriousness of the injury, even if Gabe survived, his life would likely never be the same.

John added that when people at Gabe’s church heard what had happened, they began praying. The church even streamed a live worship service as part of its prayer effort. As news of Gabe’s condition spread, others in the broader Christian community began praying as well.

Though he was still in an induced coma, Gabe said that he was aware of all that was happening, but he was seeing it from a spiritual perspective.

“I literally saw the prayers of the saints, the sons and daughters of God. I saw them from heaven’s perspective,” Gabe said. “They were gathered up into this bowl, this golden bowl, every single one of them. And literally they are presented to the throne room of heaven, and all of heaven stands at attention because our prayers are the Father’s priority. God delights in our prayers. He both cries with us and rejoices with us at the same time. It’s… it was so beautiful of a picture.”

But despite the prayers, Gabe’s condition worsened.

But that was about to change in a miraculous way.

Gabe had been in the coma for 18 days, when Ginger, a close family friend, visited the hospital to pray for him.

Gabe said that when she arrived things began changing in the heavenly realm as all the culminating prayers were starting to have an impact.

“Closer to the end of my time with Him, these prayers formed a bridge on the Earth,” Gabe said. “I literally saw these bridges that were being formed. And sure enough, the bridges gathered. And then Jesus united himself with them, and they got bigger. And bigger and bigger. And as everyone was on the Earth, I saw the prayers of those like Ginger. I saw her praying over my body. I saw my parents and my family and my friends, and I saw those prayers go right into the heart of Christ – it was those prayers that I was actually sent back on.”

As Ginger prayed, Gabe began to wake up.

“When I woke up, I just felt so out of place,” Gabe recalled, “because I had just been there and it was just like, I felt like such a foreigner. And it was so odd because here I am in the same body I was in just 18 days ago.“

A few days later, Gabe walked out of the hospital fully recovered. Dr. Moore added that very few patients with this level of trauma survive this injury and “even fewer that have a full recovery.”

But this story points to the power of prayer and the promise of healing through Christ’s death on the cross.

But He was pierced for our offenses,
