Politifact has set itself up as the master of the internet, and determiner of what is truth and a lie. It is even used by Facebook to provide warnings and even delete posts.
I have had a couple articles posted on Facebook fact checked, which I consider a badge of honour considering its source (Luke 6:26).
Recently, Politifact, was fact-checked by a judge and found wanting on the truth.
Kyle Rittenhouse is on trial for murdering two people and injuring a third during the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020. The prosecutor alleged murder, Rittenhouse claimed self-defence.
One of the charges laid against Rittenhouse, stated it was illegal for him, as a 17-year-old at the time, to be in possession of a rifle without the supervision of a parent.
When The Blaze wrote an article in Aug. 2020 stating under Wisconsin law it was legal for him to do this, the all-knowing Politifact, fact checked the article:
In fact, it was legal, provided the barrel of the rifle had not been shortened, which it wasn’t and the judge just threw out the charge in Rittenhouse’s case.

People are still waiting for a retraction from Politifact.
But don’t get your hopes up, as some are pointing out:
I am now waiting to see if this article will get fact-checked on Facebook?
