According to the Washington Free Beacon (WFB), the Hungarian-born billionaire, George Soros, is helping efforts to stop the city of Austin, Texas from hiring additional police.
The WFB reports that the Soros is helping fund Equity Pac, an organization that is opposing a referendum initiative that would require the city to hire two police officers for every 100,000 residents. The people of Austin will vote on this initiative on Nov 2, 2021 that would result in the city hiring additional police.
According to WFB, the Soros-backed Open Society Policy Center (OSP) gave Equity Pac $1,000,000 in two separate donations during October. Equity Pac has also received funding from the Texas American Federation of Teachers and a left wing organization based in Maryland, Voter PAC.
WFB adds that the city of Austin has recorded 67 homicides so far this year and with over two months left in 2021, one would have to back to 1981 to find a higher murder rate. As well, assaults are up 30% since 2019.

In an article for the Daily Wire, Michael Qazvini noted an LA Times’ article that stated Soros has struggled with a bit of a god-complex in the past, writing:
“It seems that Soros believes he was anointed by God. “I fancied myself as some kind of god …” he once wrote. “If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble.”

If this is true, Soros is not the only one accused of having a god-complex. The prophet Isaiah had a prophetic word for the King of Babylon, but many believed it also ended up describing Satan:
How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead,
to the depths of the pit.. (Isaiah 14:12-14 NIV)
