Can you imagine the uproar there would be if a teacher in a public school required the students as part of a class assignment to pray to Jesus? Well, that is exactly what is happening in California.
But with a slight change.
According to CBN, teachers are allegedly asking students to pray to Aztec gods, you know, the ones that required human sacrifices.
An organization called Californians for Equal Rights Foundation, represented by the Thomas More Society, a non-profit ‘public interest law firm,’ is suing after a school superintendent did not respond to a request to remove the prayer from the curriculum approved by the California Department of Education.
The lawsuit alleges that the curriculum asks the teachers to lead children in a series of chants and songs, that include ‘Lak Ech’ which is actually a prayer to an Aztec god.
In a City Journal article, Contributing Editor Christopher F. Rufo described one of the chants being used in classes:
“Students first clap and chant to the god Tezkatlipoka—whom the Aztecs traditionally worshipped with human sacrifice and cannibalism—asking him for the power to be ‘warriors’ for ‘social justice.“
And when California teachers are not allegedly leading students in prayers to Aztec gods, at least one was training them to be Communist revolutionaries.
