I am not a big fan of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. I don’t agree with most things that he has done, but I don’t want to fall into the trap that everything he does is wrong.
Recently he just stood up to the thugs operating Communist China. So give credit, when credit is due.
A bit of history. In December 2018, Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Huawei and the daughter of company’s founder, at the request of the US who want her extradited because of Huawei’s alleged violations of Iran sanctions while doing business in the US. Huawei is major telecommunication manufacturer in China with strong ties to the country’s communist leadership.
In retaliation, the Communist regime arrested two Canadian citizens in China charging them with spying. Of course, Communist officials said this was unrelated to the arrest of Meng.
But then recently admitted it was.
CTV reports:
A spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry says that Canada halting its attempt to extradite Meng Wanzhou could affect the fates of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.

Now I have to give Trudeau credit because he actually stood up the Communist bullies, so far anyway. Read: Trudeau rejects idea of exchanging jailed Canadians for Huawei exec
This despite the fact several Canadian elitists (including a former Prime Minister, former cabinet ministers and a Supreme Court judge) pressured Trudeau to exchange Meng for the two Canadians.
