Venezuela used to be one of the most prosperous nations in South America and then left-wing Marxists gained control under Hugo Chávez sending the country into tyranny and a poverty spiral.
So how did it all start there?
Well, according to Venezuelan Elizabeth Roglianai, it started with pulling down statues.
“Why do I even worry about some silly statues coming down. Because the last time I didn’t care about this I was a teenager,” Roglianai said. “I have already lived through this thing when I was living in Venezuela. The statues came down…Chavez didn’t want all that history displayed and then he changed the street names, then came the school curriculum. Some movies couldn’t be shown on TV channels and so on and so forth.”
The goal of communist extremists is disconnect a country from its past, and create a new identity. In an interview with Fox News, Roglianai explained:
“It’s an attempt to change the identity of the country. That’s my opinion. And, that’s what they did to us. Of course, it was different. At that point, they already had taken the government. But, at this point, they’re trying to change the national identity and they’re trying to destroy the system. And, if they get to the government, they’ll do it. They certainly will do it.”
But then Roglianai pointed out the next stage that involved pulling down religious statues:
“Founding Fathers are going to be attacked. Religious symbols are going to be attacked. And next, probably, museums. I mean, anything can be attacked if you just let it happen. If you just let the first ones come down, then [there are] no limits to what’s next.”
As one person tweeted, Venezuelans had a front row view of the Marxist game plan. So if we want their advice:
And apparently, this is how it started in Cuba as well:
And now we have activists pushing to initiate the second stage in the US. READ: Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King says statues of Jesus Christ should be torn down — but just the white ones
And on cue, religious icons are already being desecrated in the US:
