According to the Daily Caller, a federal judge has ordered three lawyers who work for Southwest Airlines to take some freedom of religion training after the airline fired an attendant who made anti-abortion statements on her personal social media account.
The judge stated that the three seemed to lack understanding of religious protections guaranteed in the US Constitution.
The 20-year-employee, Charlene Carter, was fired after she criticized her union boss on social media in 2017 for attending a pro-choice event.
With the assistance of Alliance Defending Freedom, Carter successfully sued Southwest winning $800,000 for the unlawful firing.
The judge stated that Southwest lawyers could use the services of ADF for the training as the organization has an understanding of the US Constitution.
Southwest is expected to appeal the ruling.
