The problem with electric vehicles

Many woke governments have dived headlong into electric vehicles (EV), often providing subsidies to companies that manufacture them and to anyone who would purchase one. Of course, it is being done in the name of saving the world from man-made global warming. But they have failed to perform one of the most basic checks when diving into an unknown pool: How deep is the water? Not very, according to an article in the Financial Post: The Achilles’ heel of vehicle electrification is the lithium-ion battery, an inefficient, costly and vulnerable energy-storage system plagued by issues of weight, energy density, low performance in cold weather and grid adequacy — and now also by skyrocketing prices of the key minerals it requires: lithium, cobalt and nickel. The electric mobility paradigm needs to be recognized for what it has been: a technical and fiscal flop. It should be shelved before it precipitates a serious meltdown of the automotive industry. Gas prices soaring in the US, averaging $4.91 a gallon

Gas prices are continuing to soar in the US, and have reached an average price of $4.91 a gallon, setting a tenth consecutive record day high, Breitbart reports. One California town reported that gas prices have reached $10 a gallon Breitbart explains: Gas prices on Tuesday soared to a tenth consecutive record day high of $4.91 per gallon, fueled by President Joe Biden’s war on American energy that includes driving up private and public financing costs of oil drilling, halting drilling on public lands, and canceling the Keystone pipeline. Gas prices increased five cents overnight and nearly 30 cents in one week, AAA data reveals. Drivers are paying nearly $2 more from just one year ago. Prices have more than doubled since Donald Trump left office. The pain at the pump is expected to increase to over $6.00 per gallon before Labor Day, according to a JPMorgan commodities analyst. Gas prices have reportedly already reached $10 per gallon in the northern California town of Mendocino. Study: Parts of the Antarctic ice cap are growing, not shrinking

Researchers from Cambridge University, Newcastle University, and New Zealand’s University of Canterbury are certain to send off alarm bells in the man-made global warming industrial complex (MMGWIC). One of the big fears being promoted by the MMGWIC is that if we don’t stop man-made global warming is that all the coastal cities will simply be washed away by the rising oceans. So it was particularly disturbing when this group of scientists stated that between 2003/4 to 2019, the ice pack on the western side of the Antarctic has actually been increasing. Growing. The Western Antarctic has about 1,400 km of shoreline. And this isn’t even the first time this has been reported. Back in 2015, NASA reported the exact same thing was happening. Though the ice pack on the eastern side of the Antarctic was shrinking, the ice pack on the western side was growing. In fact, the west’s growth was faster than the eastern, so overall the Antarctic ice pack was growing, not shrinking. READ: NASA Study: Mass gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet greater …

Deluge proves SUVs were invented in 1851

There are more reports that a global warming fanatic group, Tyre Extinguishers, is still prowling Britain looking for SUVs, so they can empty their tires of air. As part of this campaign, the zealots leave a letter on the vehicle’s windshield blaming them for climate change because they are driving a gas-guzzling vehicle instead of taking a bus. Unfortunately, that doesn’t explain why they also empty the tires of electric SUVs. But now concrete evidence is emerging that SUVs have been around a lot longer than previously thought. It seems they were first invented in 1851 and probably earlier. The recent massive flooding in Britain due to extreme rainfall has the eco fanatics blaming the deluge on climate change and obviously SUVs. However, during the recent lockdowns, researchers had time to study past historical records and weather reports and discovered that a major rainfall in Britain during 1852 smashed the flooding that took place this year. In fact, it wasn’t even close. The Daily Mail writes: Heavy rainfall may be associated with flash floods and …

Top climate scientist predicts global cooling

When it comes to climate, Dr. Willie Soon should know what he is talking about. He currently works for the Solar and Stellar Physics Division at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Breitbart reported on a recent interview Soon had with Alex Newman of the New American, where the climate scientist went against the popular opinion of the day, stating that he believed the earth would soon be entering a time of cooling, because of the inactivity of the sun.

Let’s pretend

Let’s pretend we are concerned about the environment and hold a news conference at a new service outlet providing electricity for electric cars that will save the world. And let’s pretend that is not a diesel generator in the background providing the electricity for those outlets.

Study: Greenland was warmer 80 years ago

This will be a bit disconcerting for the Global warming fanatics who have been claiming that because of rising C02 emissions, the earth is warmer than anytime in the past 1,000 years. The alarmist keep telling us that if we don’t reduce CO2 emissions, ice in the Arctic and Antarctic will melt and our coastal cities will be flooded. Of course, the facts say otherwise.

Global Warming: ‘We have to break your will’

According to Breitbart, This is a statement that David Ismay who serves as the undersecretary for climate change in Massachusetts, made during a Vermont Climate Council meeting in January. He said that 60% of the CO2 emissions come from average Americans and to stop this from happening, “We have to break your will.” Breitbart explains: David Ismay, the undersecretary for climate change under Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker’s (R) administration, explained during a Vermont Climate Council meeting last month the majority of the Bay State’s emissions come from average people and there is “no bad guy left … to point the finger at, to turn the screws on, and you know, to break their will.” Rather, he told his fellow climate advocates, “We have to break your will,” a remark he admitted would not bode well publicly.[…] “So let me say that again, 60 percent of our emissions that need to be reduced come from you, the person across the street, the senior on fixed income, right?” he said, acknowledging there is “no bad guy left, …

KNKX bends the knee to Seattle’s left-wing mob

University of Washington atmospheric professor Cliff Mass was recently fired by KNKX, a publicly owned jazz and blues radio station in Seattle, Washington. Mass hosted a regular weather program at the station. Mass said his tenure at KNKX has always been a bit tenuous writing: A collection of activist folks has been gunning for me for a long time and have energetically tried to get me kicked off KNKX.   The reason:  the  discussions of climate and climate change in my blog.   No, we are NOT talking about what I said on air, where I stick to weather and the content was controlled completely by the station.  They objected to what I said in my outside blog about climate change. Mass does believe in man-made global warming, but has gotten into trouble when he criticizes the media and environmental groups that make exaggerated claims of the damage and severity of global warming. He never did this on air, only on his blog. But apparently he crossed a line, when he dared to criticize the Seattle rioters …

Do ecological Marxists want to finish us off?

With governments around the world having destroyed their economies through lockdowns, in a failed effort to contain the coronavirus, environmental fanatics believe this is the perfect time to finish us off. Breitbart reports: In an interview published Monday with the leftist magazine Jacobin, Malm, who runs the master’s program in human ecology at Lund University, suggests that the moment may have finally arrived to empower governments to dramatically rearrange the world economy to stop climate change. . “There was a moment in March 2020 when many of us in the climate justice movement felt a degree of surprise to find that governments in Europe and elsewhere were prepared to basically shut down their entire economies in an effort to contain the pandemic,” Malm notes. “This is striking, given that the same states had never contemplated undertaking any kind of intervention in the economy for the sake of the climate crisis.” Malm liked what happened during the lockdowns, and wants this to continue. And we can’t forget his reference to communism, (note how some are not …

Another ‘failed’ global warming prediction

Look I would be absolutely delighted if they could just get the weather right for the weekend, but climate alarmist demand we must believe their predictions of what will happen years down the road if we don’t rein in CO2 emissions. Well, let’s take look at another of Al Gore’s failed predictions from his book An Inconvenient Truth. Gore predicted that the US would need to rename Glacier National Park because there would be no glaciers by 2012. Gore wrote: “I climbed to the top of the bigger glacier in this park with one of my daughters in 1997 and heard from the scientists who accompanied us that within 15 years all of the glaciers throughout the park will likely be gone.” Earlier this year the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center announced that the park’s 26 glaciers are doing fine and in fact, they removed signs telling people they would be gone by 2020, hoping nobody would notice. Should “Climate Change” be listed as the cause of death?

According to an article on Breitbart, two doctors, Arnagretta Hunter and Simon Quilty, from the Australian National University Medical School are demanding governments list “Climate Change” as the official cause of death on death certificates, if a person died from heat stroke in that country. According to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald there have been 340 deaths officially attributed to heat stroke in Australia over the past 11 years adding: “[B]ut statistical analysis by two doctors [Hunter and Quilty] with the Australian National University shows that 36,765 could have been attributed to heat.” “Climate change is a killer, but we don’t acknowledge it on death certificates,” co-author Arnagretta Hunter, from the ANU Medical School, said. Note the “could have been,” as this and similar terminology is often used to promote a particular agenda. Reduced sunspots on the sun could mean cooling

UK’s Met Office and Royal Astronomical Society are reporting a significant decline in the number of sunspots on the sun. It is referred to as a “solar minimum” that typically takes place every 11 years. The Daily Mail writes:  Which means that the activity on the Sun’s surface has fallen dramatically, and its magnetic field has become weaker, letting into the environment more of the sort of cosmic rays that cause dramatic lightning storms and interfere with astronauts and space hardware.  They can also can lead to the explosion of ‘sprites’ — clusters of orange and red lights that shoot out of the top of thunderstorms like 60-mile-high palm trees in the sky.  Oh yes, and on top of all that, theoretically it could cause the temperature on Earth to drop to potentially catastrophic new lows. … So far this year, the Sun has been ‘blank’ — with no sunspots — 76 per cent of the time. A figure surpassed just once since the Fifties, last year, when it was 77 per cent blank. But …

The New Climate Religion

Climate activists have strong ideas about how the world will end, if we don’t change our ways. They also have new ideas for people to learn, and documents that they use to support their arguments. In theology, that is eschatology (end times), catechism (beliefs), and scriptures (respected writings). That means a belief system about the Earth’s climate is becoming a religion, something to believe in by faith. The old saying is “Man is incurably religious.” READ: The Religion of Climatism
