Climate change caused the eclipse and New York earthquake?

The raging hysteria about climate change has just entered the bizarro stage, for those familiar with that old Superman alternate reality, where everything was the opposite. Good was bad, and ugly was beautiful, etc. On Monday, The View cohost, Sunny Hostin, blamed climate change for Monday’s eclipse and the 4.8 earthquake that rattled New York on Friday, April 5, 2024, Fox News reports. Yes, it seems that people driving SUVs are responsible for the moon blocking out the sun and causing massive shifting beneath the Earth’s surface. Though other members of The View quickly disagreed, a US Senate Candidate, Christina Amira Khalil, who also happens to be a member of the Green Party, tweeted that climate change was responsible for the earthquake that hit New York. “I experienced my first earthquake in NJ. We never get earthquakes,” Khalil wrote in the widely mocked viral tweet. “The climate crisis is real. The weirdest experience ever.” However, Hostin didn’t stop there, she went on to talk about the reaction of her makeup artist, when the Friday earthquake hit, …

A Roman milestone on the road between the Iberian cities of Bracara Augusta and Asturica Augusta

Was Jesus standing near a miliarium, when He said if they compel you to go a mile, go two?

Most of the time when Jesus was teaching, the Lord was outside, and I often wondered if much of what He said was based on what He saw around him. When Jesus said, “See how the flowers of the field grow,” (Matthew 6:28), I suspect there was a field nearby. So, when Jesus told His disciples, “And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles,” (Matthew 5:41 ESV), I wonder if they were actually standing within eyesight of an ancient Roman milestone. Referred to as miliarium, the columns were routinely made of granite or marble and were typically set up to mark the distance of 1,000 double Roman steps, approximately one mile today, on a road. Since people only traveled a few miles each day, these stones provided valuable information on how far they had journeyed. In addition to supplying the one-mile distance, the stone also had the name of the Roman Emperor responsible for the road’s construction and typically the military unit, overseeing the road’s maintenance. The stones often …

The significance of solar eclipses

The total solar eclipse that will pass over parts of Canada and the US today has certainly caught everyone’s attention. Americans living in a 115-mile-wide swath that travels from Maine in the North to Texas in the South will be within the total eclipse zone and for about 4 minutes will experience total darkness. Many outside that zone are making travel plans to visit so they can personally witness this rare solar event. It is expected that one million people will visit Texas, where parts of that state will experience a total eclipse of the sun. Another half a million could be traveling to Indiana and Ohio for the same reason, according to eclipse cartographer Michael Zeiler. Niagara Falls, on both the Canadian and American sides of the border, is another region expecting overflow crowds, as it is within the total eclipse epicenter. According to one report, some Niagara hotels were “booked for between $914 and $1,844 on April 7 into April 8, the day of the eclipse.” It’s estimated that upwards of four million …

New York Times Square, 2020

New York and New Jersey were rocked by ‘an ancient crack in the Earth’s crust’ on Friday. Is it a sign of the times?

Study Finds is a website that keeps people in touch with the latest research from around the world. There was recently a curious article on the site that may be just a sign of the times. The article entitled, Did You Feel That? What To Do When An Earthquake Strikes, provided a list of dos and don’ts should an earthquake hit your area. It seems that earthquakes are starting to trend, and the publishers felt that this article would not only be of interest to its readers but also provide helpful information. Perhaps, it is no coincidence that the writer, Chris Melore, just happens to be from New York. Unlike California, New York is not known as an earthquake zone, at least it wasn’t until 2024. This year, New York City and the area including New Jersey have been hit with two earthquakes. The first took place on Jan. 2, 2024, when the region was shaken by a relatively minor, 1.7 magnitude earthquake. There were no injuries and deaths and no significant damage. But then …

Richard Dawkins, 2008

Have you heard of the Atheist who is a Cultural Christian?

Richard Dawkins is possibly the most famous Atheist in the world. He wrote a book titled “The God Delusion” and he often speaks in public. Recently in an interview, Dawkins identified himself as a Christian, specifically a “Cultural Christian.” Apparently, the discussion was about how the Muslim celebration of Ramadan replaced the Christian Easter, as a public celebration in a prominent place in London. Dawkins stated that their country, Britain, was “culturally Christian” and he identified himself as a “Cultural Christian.” It sounds strange for the most outspoken Atheist in the world, to identify himself as any kind of Christian, but that is what happened. There is a story here, with a lesson for us. Richard Dawkins is a graduate and also served as a professor at Oxford University. He has been a critic of Creationism, the idea that God created the universe, and he advocates for evolution, without God, in biology. It seems that he disagrees with religion and a belief in God, but he likes the culture that grew from a belief in …

Canada: Is the Chinese Communist Party interfering in Canadian Elections?

According to CSIS, which is Canada’s intelligence agency, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been actively interfering in Canadian elections. The following series of headlines and quotes are from Blacklock’s Reporter. Though the articles are behind paywalls, the introductory paragraphs provide disturbing details: China Picks Favourites: CSIS “Communist Party agents worked to elect “pro-China” candidates to the current Parliament, CSIS director David Vigneault yesterday testified at the Commission on Foreign Interference. ‘I support those conclusions,’ said Vigneault as documents pointed to large cash payments for unnamed public office holders: ‘As you can imagine, we are not at liberty to discuss the specifics.‘” And again…. RCMP Investigates 2021 Vote “Police have opened a criminal investigation into 2021 election interference by foreign agents, RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme said yesterday. Testifying at the China inquiry, Duheme would not discuss details: ‘We received information that prompted us to open an investigation.‘” And again… Suspects Heckler Was Planted “Suspicions a Chinese agent was planted at a 2021 election meeting to heckle Conservative MP Michael Chong (Wellington-Halton Hills, Ont.) are ‘compelling’ …

Holy Spirit on the move again, resulting in water baptisms in the back of pickup trucks at the University of Georgia

Over the past year, we have seen the Holy Spirit moving on several university campuses across the US, resulting in hundreds of people being saved. But perhaps, one of the more intriguing spin-offs has been the number of students also getting water baptized. We have seen people being spontaneously water baptized at a lake at Alabama’s Auburn University and more recently in the water fountain at Florida State University. But certainly, this next story may top the list of unusual baptisms as dozens of people were baptized in tanks located in the back of pickup trucks at the University of Georgia on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, CBN reports. The university, which is based in St. Athens, GA, has a student population of just over 40,000. Between 7,000 and 8,000 students attended the faith event held at Stegeman Coliseum led by Jennie Allen and Jonathan Pokluda. Allen founded IF:Gathering and Pokluda pastors Harris Creek Baptist church in Waco, Texas. Allen has been organizing faith events, called Unite, at University campuses across the US since 2023. During …

A ‘Culture of Lawlessness’? Jesus warned us

12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12 ESV) In Matthew 24, Jesus warned of a series of events such as earthquakes, and wars, that would start taking place on Earth leading to His second coming. One of these signs, which Jesus described as birth pangs (Matthew 24:8), was the increase of lawlessness that would result in many people’s hearts turning cold. According to Thayer’s Greek Dictionary, the word ‘anomia’ translated as lawless refers to ‘the condition of without law,’ and a ‘contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness.’ Today, I read two articles that indicate we could be entering this phase, and sadly, politicians are largely at the root of the problem. The first involves a statement made by a New York broker who recently had a home she manages illegally invaded by alleged squatters and is fighting both the government policy and the squatters to have them removed. In an interview with Fox News, Ejona Bardhi Shyti said New York, which has gone soft on crime, …
