In 2022, Jenny Weaver, a former drug addict and witch, started Core Group, an organization that was initially dedicated to transforming the lives of women with the Gospel of Jesus.

This past Easter Sunday, her group water baptized 200 people on a beach in Clearwater, Florida, with 400 looking on, CBN reports.

When Weaver started Core Group, rather than focusing on the Sunday service, Weaver emphasized a program of discipleship with people meeting in their homes during the week.

“People are so used to going to church, hearing a sermon, high-fiving their neighbor, walking out, but sometimes there is no real transformation and actual change,” Weaver said. “In these groups, the women come in and they expect to meet with God.”

Jenny’s husband, Stephen, has since started Core Group for men.

Today, they have over 600 home groups, as well as hundreds of evangelism groups around the world, including the US, UK, Australia, and South Africa.

During these meetings in people’s living rooms, they emphasize the Holy Spirit with such themes as spiritual warfare, prayer, marriage, and deliverance.

Jenny grew up in a dysfunctional home and became involved with both drugs and the occult.

“You would feel demon spirits literally walking by you like a human being was walking by you,” Jenny said in an interview with CBN. “Touching you. Scraping the wall. It went from, ‘Oh, this is gonna be really fun,’ into, ‘I’m gonna choke you out until you die. I’m gonna take your life.’ All the time. Constantly tormented.”

By 17 she was living on the streets and became a Christian while sitting in a jail cell.
