The city council of Louisville, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, is considering passing an ordinance that would prevent the construction of any new gas stations or auto service businesses that would provide any type of car repair, Fox News reports.
The ordinance would be part of the council’s attempt to fight climate change.
With a population of 21,000, the city council essentially wants to cap the number of gas stations in the city to six.
Under the provision, the city would allow the construction of a seventh gas station provided it is part of a larger retail mall. Any new station would also have to include two charging stations for electric vehicles as part of its service.
Banning the construction of gas stations seems to be part of a new trend being embraced by the environmental and political elites.
