Social media is going rogue as Christian actor Kevin Sorbo reported on Friday, that Facebook deleted his official page with over 500,000 followers. The Social Media giant has so far refused to provide an explanation on why Sorbo’s page was removed.
The Blaze reports:
Christian actor Kevin Sorbo said that Facebook deleted his page despite his having more than 500,000 followers, and the company didn’t respond to a request for an explanation for the action. POLL: What scares you the most?
Sorbo tweeted about the incident on Friday.
That page has since gained far fewer followers with only about 2,200.
Sorbo has become an outspoken critic of liberal politics and this undoubtedly put a target on his back. Deleting is just one of the strategies that the social media giants use. They will sometimes use less obvious methods such as throttling that purposefully limits the number of people who view the post even if they are subscribed.
But it is a warning of what awaits people who refuse to bend the knee to Facebook and Twitter. As an alternative, people should also consider posting on free speech alternatives, such as Gab, in case they are next.
