Dr. Sam Matthews, from Shawnee, Oklahoma serves International Christian Leadership Connections (ICLC) as a member of the Apostolic Company. As I mentioned in my previous article, Dr. Sam had spoken this RHEMA word over me, “If you speak in tongues for three hours a day for 30 days you will have three Heavenly Visitations and you will birth your destiny.”

I completed the obedience and spoke in tongues for three consecutive hours a day for 30 days and then I waited. I didn’t know what would happen. What is the proper protocol to receive a Heavenly Visitation and what should the responses be?

Early in my Christian life I was taught that if a spirit appears to you, you should demand that it says “Jesus is the Lord.” This stems from I Corinthians 12:3 that reads:

“Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, ‘Jesus is accursed:’ and no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.’”

I had also believed that practice makes perfect. Hebrews 5:14 says “But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”

Before this Rhema word, I had already had many experiences with the presence of the Holy Spirit and I had also encountered the demonic.

As well I had been a part of the release of many of the Charismatic Gifts of the Holy Spirit as found in I Corinthians 12.

I received the Gifts of Healings in 1973 in a dramatic fashion at Saskatchewan Beach. I have laid hands on the sick and seen people healed so I started to understand that presence.

In 1979, six years later, I was standing in my living room with my first wife. We were practicing to sing at a wedding. I had been asked to write a song which the pianist was playing. Suddenly, a power entered into the room that sent me to the floor and I buried my face in the carpet. I then realized that my wife was still standing. I told her to get down beside me, she said “Why?” In response I pulled her down and covered her with my arm so that she also was not looking.

I waited until the power that had entered my living room had left. When I stood up the pianist was unconscious, slumped over the piano. I picked her up and put her on the couch to recover. She had been suffering from Leukemia and it seemed to have left her body during this event. She is still alive today.

It seems that part of my Angelic protocol is to hide my eyes to let whatever is being released occur without my having to see it.

The First Visitation

The first Visitation occurred in 2003 about two weeks after my 30 day period of speaking in tongues. I was sleeping and I was awakened with a power in my bedroom. I was 49 years old and I did what any reasonable, mature adult would do. I pulled the covers over my head!!

While still under the covers, I asked this presence, “Do you worship Jesus?”

He said “I do.”

I said “I’m going to take the covers off from over my head. If you want to show me what you look like you can do it then.” I removed the covers and saw nothing; I really wanted to see the Angel. I then asked the Angel “What is your name?”

“Preacher” he said.

I asked him what he did.

Preacher answered, “I speak words around the saints of God. I speak words of Destiny, of Callings, of the Good Will of God. Many curses are spoken against the Children of God. I speak Blessings.”

I asked Preacher “Are you in the Bible?”

He said “I am.” Then he said “I am in Zechariah Chapter 3. I am the one who was standing by.”
Preacher then said “I have words. I have BIG words. I have HUGE words.”

Preacher got louder with every statement. And finally he YELLED with a power that shook my whole being! “I HAVE REVIVAL WORDS!!!“ and with that he was gone.

I knew the scripture from Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?”

It seemed that Preacher’s service was to change the spiritual atmosphere around people by directing God-like words towards them. When I was awake, I looked up Zachariah 3:4 and saw that the Angel of the Lord spoke to those that were standing by Joshua, saying “Remove the filthy garments from him.”

Two years earlier, in 2001, my wife and I had our first exposure to ICLC. Philip Mohabir from London, England, who was the head Apostle of ICLC, spoke a word over my wife and I. He said, “There’s a cloud over your ministry, but, that’s changing now and it’s being removed.”

Mr. Mohabir spoke later that night on Zechariah Chapter 3 where a filthy robe was removed from Joshua the High Priest and so I was further able to understand the impact and application of what he had prophesied over us. My Heavenly Father always knows why He does something and why He does something twice.

This was the second time that a word of cleansing had been spoken over me. We spent 10 years in an international group of churches called LIFELINKS. A prophetic man, Keith Hazel, head of LIFELINKS, prophesied over my second wife and I.

He said “There’s a reproach in your past Brother” and then he started a series of statements. “This is a day of freedom for you Brother – The Lord rolls away the reproach” then he repeated it louder “THE LORD ROLLS AWAY THE REPROACH” then he YELLED it a third time “THE LORD ROLLS AWAY THE REPROACH!!”

At this point the 150 plus people who were listening in this meeting started CHEERING louder and LOUDER for they all knew what the reproach was. My first marriage stopped when I was 30. My second marriage started when I was 37. For six years I had walked with filthy garments. Then God’s grace came and did something for me that I couldn’t do for myself. I am a vessel of mercy.

Two years later, when Preacher was my first Heavenly Visitation, I understood the personal application to me. Since then, on special occasions, I have asked for Jesus to send Preacher to certain people who are enduring a lot of negativity around their life. Some of the situations and circumstances immediately changed.

The Second Visitation

There was a period of two weeks between the First and Second Visitations. I started to experience the presence of a second angel with me and I was waiting for him to reveal himself. Time stretched on. I had waited about a month had not spoken to this angel. I really wanted to see the one that was following me.

Finally I said “I am going to bed tonight, if you want to reveal yourself to me wake me up from my sleep.”

I was awakened that very night. I again put the covers over my head and said “If you wish to reveal yourself to me then you can show me when I take the covers off of my head.”

I was assured that this angel was sent by Jesus but I did not see what he looked like. I asked him “What is your name?”

“Conquer” he said.

“What do you do?” I asked.

“I am a warrior and I am sent into battles to bring victory to those that are needing help to win.”

I asked him “Are you in the Bible?”

And he said “I am, you can find me in the Book of Revelation riding a white horse.”

“I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat on him had a bow: and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” (Revelations 6:2)

“And I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.” (Revelation 19:11)

“And the armies which are in Heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.” (Revelation 19:14)

I am grateful to Jesus who would send Conquer to us to help turn the battle. I feel I still have much to learn about this second Visitation. I have had several conversations with Preacher since the First Visitation and he has given me words which I have preached. I have had very few additional conversations with Conquer but have asked that Jesus would send him into the battle when things are hard.
