According to a report on PJ Media, people in Hawaii are hearing sounds in the heavens that for some sound a lot like trumpets. The latest video was recorded on April 4, 2018 (watch below).
It is uncertain what the source of these mysterious sounds are. Some are offering natural explanations such as methane explosions or earthquakes deep underground. They could also be caused by tidal waves or shifting sand dunes or even atmospheric conditions.
Others have offered up grinding of tectonic plates as a possible explanation, while some believe they may be a result of of yet unknown human activity.
In recent years, there have been many videos posted on YouTube about trumpet-like sounds being heard around the world. You have to be careful when watching these videos because clearly some are hoaxes, spawned by those that are legitimate.
One of the seemingly legitimate ones involved a video recorded in Terrace, British Columbia, Canada on August 29, 2013:
In the end there are probably natural explanations for these sounds.
But in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John’s vision of the end times, he saw angels with trumpets announcing various apocalyptic events on the earth. In Revelation 8, trumpet blasts paved the way for seven judgements.
This included the first judgement that talked of fire and hail being hurled to the earth resulting in a massive die off of plants and trees. This may be a reference to a world-wide drought (Revelation 8:7).
Others included the second judgment where John saw a burning mountain crashing into the ocean killing a third of the ocean life and destroying a third of the ships (Revelation 8:8-9). Most believe this is a reference to an asteroid hitting earth and astronomers have reported several near misses in recent years.
The third judgement is similar to the second, but involves a star called “wormwood” hitting land (instead of the ocean) resulting in the water turning bitter and killing thousands (Revelation 8:10-11). Though it sounds like another asteroid, some have wondered if this is a reference to a nuclear attack because of its impact on water.
In another instance, John said angelic conversations sounded like trumpets:
4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” (Revelation 4:1 NASV)
Then a few chapters later, John saw an angel preaching the gospel in the mid-heavens (Revelation 14:6). I believe this will soften people’s hearts and pave the way for a massive end-times revival (Revelation 14:16). Would this angel have a similar trumpet-like voice?
When I read these verses in the past, it never occurred to me that these trumpet blasts and sounds would be heard on earth. But really there is no reason they couldn’t.
This is not to suggest that what we are hearing today is connected to John’s vision of the end times, because there are probably reasonable, natural explanations for many of these trumpet sounds.
