APOLOGETICS: Water is vital for life. It's properties are clear evidence of design.
Some people may think that worship is something that you only do at church, but remember the word of God when it says "..in everything give thanks..." Thankfulness to God is a form of worship. With that in mind let us examine a very special substance created by God and made specially for us. Water.
Unlike other liquids, water expands and becomes less dense when frozen, which is why ice floats. Without this unique property, all water life would have perished during its first Saskatchewan winter!
Water also has the ability to absorb five times more heat than soil, making it a critical factor in the equilibration of our world climate. This same amazing substance is also responsible for maintaining the delicate balance of your body temperature. When water evaporates from your skin it draws heat from your body and maintains its temperature, thus preventing you from over heating. A minor 8 degree shift in temperature would be fatal.
In Nature, it is water that determines the structure of many crystals, including diamonds and other precious gems. As a solvent, water is able to dissolve nearly any substance including metals.
Waters ability to vaporize at low temperatures is the driving force behind the evaporation & precipitation cycle. Without this cycle our land would become dry as a desert, and little life could survive or thrive.
So the next time you take a sip of water, remember to thank our marvelous Creator for water is God's miracle and is the source of physical life and vitality on the earth. Jesus said that He is "living water". Everyone who drinks physical water will thirst again, but the one who believes in Jesus will never thirst spiritually. He is the water from heaven to quench the thirsty soul. [see John 4:10-14]
