Tim Tebow with John 3:16 under his eyes

When John 3:16 was googled 90 million times and the strange coincidences that followed

Many of us are familiar with John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” But you may not be familiar with the day, that verse was googled over 94 million times during a college football game, and the odd coincidences that followed after it was googled 90 million times during an NFL playoff. It all started when quarterback Tim Tebow decided to change the Biblical verse that he wrote over his eye black during college football games. Tebow, a born-again Christian, was the Heisman winning Quarterback for the University of Florida Gators. When he started his college career, he saw players putting black tape beneath their eyes to reduce the glare and writing their mom’s name on it or other messages. Following suit, Tim decided that this would be a good way to incorporate a Biblical message and wrote the citation for Philippians 4:13 using a white marker, Faithit reports. The word Philippians was written beneath his …

Young woman with hearing aid at home

The incredible miracle of a young girl who was just practicing hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit

When you read testimonies of someone being healed of an incurable, you expect it would be at the hands of a proven minister, who has been moving in the power of the Holy Spirit for years. You don’t expect it to be at the hands of a complete stranger who was practicing hearing the voice of God. Yes, I said “practicing”. The video of the unnamed woman’s testimony was posted on Kris Vallotton’s YouTube channel. Kris is the Senior Associate Leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California, and co-founder of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.  After experiencing between 15-45 fainting spells in a day and at times finding it impossible to stand, she went to the Stanford Medical Clinic in August 2016, where she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. It is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that attacks your nervous system. Though there is no known cure, in most instances, it does clear up on its own, but often many are never really the same after being affected by the disease. Over the next several …

Video: Sheep ignore all the other voices until the real shepherd calls

Jesus told His disciples, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). The verse tells us that when we become believers, God speaks to us regularly through the Holy Spirit that is now resident inside us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). However, though God regularly speaks to us, we are not always recognizing the voice of God, in the 6,000 or so thoughts that pop into our heads on an average day. We need to learn to identify the voice of God, whose tone will be different. We need to be like the sheep in the video above, who know the voice of their shepherd, even when several people try to mimic the call of the shepherd. The sheep ignore all those other voices, and then the real shepherd calls them to come in. Like these sheep, we need to discern when the Holy Spirit is speaking to us. This ability to consistently differentiate God’s voice from the thousands of other thoughts that clutter our mind is the key to …

The Holy Spirit is speaking to you: Discerning God’s voice

Researchers estimate that over 6,000 thoughts pass through our minds in an average day. And as a believer with the Holy Spirit resident inside us, we know that some of those thoughts are from God, because Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice” (John 10:27). When you believe in Jesus, you will start hearing the voice of Christ, but that doesn’t immediately guarantee that you will recognize Christ’s voice. This leads to an interesting story on Faithwire, involving Pastor Timmy Hensel, who, along with his wife and two children, were attending the Kansas Chiefs Super Bowl parade and celebration on Wednesday, Feb 14, 2024. Timmy pastors a Foursquare Church in Raytown, Missouri. He and his family were standing along the parade route when they decided to go to Union Station, where the players and coaches would be speaking. They were sitting in the crowd when Timmy felt the Holy Spirit urging them to leave. When he mentioned it to his wife, she was getting the very same thought, and so they decided to leave. This …
