It’s an incredible demonstration of how the Holy Spirit is no respecter of persons. Once an individual has been forgiven through the blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit will fill and empower them no matter what they did in their past life.
This was powerfully demonstrated when the Holy Spirit fell upon a former terrorist leader in Afghanistan.
Since 2019, Robby Dawkins, who is based in Aurora, Illinois, has been working in many Muslim countries, such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, where he has set up power evangelism schools to train believers on how to move in the power of the Holy Spirit.
This includes some countries such as Afghanistan, where the church has been forced underground.
In a Facebook post, Dawkins shared how the Holy Spirit fell upon a former leader of the Taliban while he was ministering at a training camp in Afghanistan, Christian Learning reports.
“This (now former) Tlbn leader attended our training in Afghan. He was so hit by the Holy Spirits’ power that he crumpled to the ground when I laid hands on him and prayed,” Robby reported in the now deleted Facebook post.
Robby added that many of the Christians at the training center stated that in his past life, this man would have not hesitated in killing the believers attending these training sessions.
“Several there said this guy would normally kill us if it wasn’t for the impact Jesus made on him, transforming his entire life,” Robby noted.
This is certainly not the first time, the Holy Spirit has done this.
Before becoming a Christian, the Apostle Paul. then known as Saul, was a Jewish Pharisee who had been authorized to arrest any Jews who believed in Jesus (Acts 9:1-2, Acts 22:5).
He was responsible not only for their arrest, but also their brutal treatment, which Paul insinuated was violent (Galatians 1:13). Undoubtedly, the arrested Christians were being beaten and probably even tortured.
Additionally, we are told that Saul not only approved of the mob stoning of Stephen (Acts 8:1), but also participated in his murderous execution (Acts 7:58).
But after he believed in Christ, Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:17-18) and told the Corinthians he spoke in tongues more than them all (1 Corinthians 14:18).
