
With the American and Canadian governments going soft on crime, and handing out free hard drugs and paraphernalia to addicts, the news that these two countries also have the first and second-highest addiction rates in the world shouldn’t really surprise anyone.

An analysis of drug addiction statistics by Smoke Free found that the US has the highest number of addicts, 3.42 per 100 people, followed by Canada with 2.46 per 100, the Toronto Sun reports.
Smoke Free came to this conclusion after studying addiction statistics of 200 countries provided by several groups including the US National Library of Medicine, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization.
