Jim Denison shared an interesting story on his website contrasting the happiness of Cubans with that of Americans.

He started off with a recent poll that asked Americans how much money they would need to earn annually to be truly happy. The magic number was $284,000 a far cry from America’s median family income of $74,000. They would also like to have $1.2 million in their bank account.

But then he compared that to his Cuban friends, who despite their poverty and lack of the essentials such as food and medicine, he describes as some of the ‘most joyful and generous Christians I have ever met.’

“Here’s the difference: they focus more on what they have than what they need and credit God for all they have,” Jim explains. “They know that “every good and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights (James 1:17).”
