The Associated Press (AP), via its Associated Press Style Book, has just told reporters to no longer refer to the Hamas terrorist organization as terrorists, Hotair reports.
AP is not only a major distributor of news, its style book is used by many mainstream news outlets around the world.
AP made the decision to no longer use the word terrorist to describe Hamas because the term has become politicized. Instead, writers are encouraged to refer to Hamas as militants and will also approve such descriptions as “Hamas fighters, attackers, or combatants.”
Of course, this is not the first time that AP’s political dogma was on full display. As BLM was burning and looting stores across America in 2020, its style book stated that reporters should use the word ‘unrest’ to describe this activity instead of a riot.
It is exactly this type of blind ideology that is behind the collapse of America’s trust in the mainstream media.
This trust is so low that a Gallup poll earlier this year revealed that half of Americans believe that the mainstream media is deliberately lying to them and 25% weren’t sure.
The poll revealed that only 25% of Americans are convinced that the mainstream media wasn’t lying to them.
A further 52% stated that they don’t believe that the mainstream media is providing news in the best interest of consumers. In other words, over half of Americans believe the mainstream media has its own political agenda when it comes to creating news stories.
