We have been brainwashed for over a century by the theory of evolution, that life sprung out of some primordial soup as single-celled bacteria in an instant became breathing, living and consuming. Humans subsequently evolved from this single cell through a series of small changes.

But it seems that some scientists are finally admitting that Darwin’s theory just doesn’t work.

Don’t kid yourself, they haven’t suddenly become believers in God, though some have, they are simply calling for a new theory of evolution, because this old one does not explain the absolute complexity of life.

In his article entitled, Do we need a new theory of evolution?, for the British newspaper, The Guardian, Stephen Buranyi writes that a “new wave of scientists argues that mainstream evolutionary theory needs an urgent overhaul. Their opponents have dismissed them as misguided careerists – and the conflict may determine the future of biology.”

In his article, Buranyi writes that for generations we were told that creatures with poor eyesight, had offspring with slightly better eyesight, and because they thrived, this process continued.

“This is the basic story of evolution, as recounted in countless textbooks and pop-science bestsellers,” Buranyi wrote. “The problem, according to a growing number of scientists, is that it is absurdly crude and misleading.”

“For one thing, it starts midway through the story, taking for granted the existence of light-sensitive cells, lenses and irises, without explaining where they came from in the first place,” Buranyi continues. “Nor does it adequately explain how such delicate and easily disrupted components meshed together to form a single organ. And it isn’t just eyes that the traditional theory struggles with. ‘The first eye, the first wing, the first placenta. How they emerge. Explaining these is the foundational motivation of evolutionary biology,’ says Armin Moczek, a biologist at Indiana University. ‘And yet, we still do not have a good answer. This classic idea of gradual change, one happy accident at a time, has so far fallen flat.’”

Of course, scientists, who dedicated their lives to promoting evolution, are not going down without a fight.

This came to light after eight scientists wrote an article for journal Nature in 2014 stating that the theory of evolution needs a major rethink. When a conference was held in 2015, to discuss this, Buranyi noted that it was boycotted by Royal Society scientists and Nobel laureates.

Who wants to admit that the thing they dedicated their lives to for 50 years is suddenly wrong?

In 2014, University of Manchester physicist, Brian Cox, hosted a BBC documentary entitled, Human Universe, where he said that we should just quit looking for alien life on other planets. He said what happened on earth was so ‘miraculous’ it could not be repeated.

“There is only one advance technological civilization in this galaxy and there has only ever been one– and that’s us. We are unique,” Cox said.

And these issues are not just causing people to question evolution, it is resulting in some scientists becoming Christians. Sy Garte who has a Ph.D. in biochemistry became a Christian because he concluded from his study of chemical reactions in biology that it was impossible for life to have evolved. He was raised in a family that had been atheistic for three generations.

“I learned about the process by which proteins are made in cells and that’s a very complex process that involves a tremendous amount of biomolecules interacting with each other and the complexity is just incredible,” Garte said in a video for Capturing Christianity. “I remember feeling like a chill going down my spine. It was like, ‘This is amazing. How did this get here?’ It was something that I couldn’t answer.”

The Apostle Paul noted that in the end, none will have an excuse on why they didn’t believe in God, because of God’s unbelievable creation.
