It took only a couple of days, but Canadian stores are already reporting shortages of vegetables and fruit after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau banned unvaccinated American truck drivers from entering Canada effective Jan. 15, 2022.
He apparently got confused by that old saying ‘feed a cold, starve a fever’ and thought it would work for COVID as well.
Because it’s winter in Canada, the US becomes our primary source of vegetables and fruit.
Trudeau’s ban is not only causing shortages, but is also resulting in sharply increasing food prices for items that do make it into Canada. The country’s inflation rate is already at a thirty-year-high and is now expected to get significantly worse.
