In a recent poll of Americans, Rasmussen asked this interesting question: “Do you agree or disagree with this statement: The media are truly the enemy of the people.”

Incredibly, but perhaps not surprisingly, nearly 60% of those polled agreed that the media is “the enemy of the people.” This included 34% who strongly agreed and 24% who somewhat agreed.

In contrast, only 23% of American strongly disagreed. In other words, less than a quarter of Americans are absolutely convinced that the media is not the enemy of America.

Things are a bit different in Canada, where recent polling indicated 45% of Canadians still trust the media.
