There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the use of hydroxychloroquine, a common malaria drug, in the fight against COVID. There was an immediate backlash against the drug, probably because US President Donald Trump recommended it.

Then after warnings against hydroxychloroquine provided by a study published in the Lancet, Switzerland, that was using the drug to combat COVID, stopped using it. When the study’s questionable data was exposed, Switzerland resumed using hydroxychloroquine.
