It is so easy to be angry these days. Why did those people in China, whoever they are, let that virus into the world? Why did we manage the spreading infection so badly? Why are those people burning businesses and tearing down statues? Why did that other driver just cut me off on the freeway? ,,,
It is always easy to find a fault in someone, and that makes anger a good thing. We know the offenders deserve it.
Strangely, Christians are not told, in the Bible, that they should never be angry. The direction is “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry” (Ephesians 4:26)
So, don’t do anything wrong while you are angry, and finish it before the end of the day. Control the damage and the duration.
Medical science has discovered one important reason why anger needs to be limited; it will make us sick. We think our anger is a force to use against other people, but it is mostly harmful to the angry person. This is a good lesson in these angry times.
