‘God give us strength’ found scrawled on the walls of a Russian torture chamber in Ukraine

After Ukraine liberated the city of Kherson earlier this month, they discovered the horrors of a Russian torture chamber, where one person had scrawled the words, “God give us strength,’ along with a cross, on a wall. The Russians had captured the city during the early days (February to March) of its invasion of Ukraine but were forced to abandon the capital city of the Oblast Region after relentless pressure from Ukraine. The Daily Mail reports: Among the sinister finds were gas masks and bottles of liquid – now being analysed – while inmates had scrawled ‘God, give us strength’ on the walls and made markings to count the days they had been held. In inhumane conditions, the invaders interrogated ‘local patriots’ who ‘refused to cooperate with the enemy’, said the Ukrainian government. The torture chamber is the latest of several that have been uncovered in the city, abandoned by Russia as they faced defeat at the hands of Ukraine’s advancing army. Horrifying testimony has started to emerge from victims of Russian torture while investigators …

Should We Love Our Enemies Even During a Time of War?

By Dr. Michael L. Brown

Recently, some Christians in Ukraine came under fire for putting up billboards in their city with verses from the Bible, one of which quoted the words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount where He called us to love our enemies (see Matthew 5:43-48). As a result, these Christians have been branded separatists and traitors, with some calling for their church to be investigated.

Is Vladimir Putin trying to revive the old Soviet Union?

As Russia was threatening to invade Ukraine over the past few weeks, people were already suggesting that there was more going on. They wondered even then if Russian president, Vladimir Putin, was wanting to restore the old Communist Soviet Union and all its brutal glory, where well over 20 million people died. READ: The Staggering Toll of the Russian Revolution AND 100 Years of Communism—and 100 Million Dead And with Russia’s invasion fully on, The Blaze reports that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken admits that this reviving of the former Soviet Union empire may be exactly what is happening. The Blaze explains U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Thursday that Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine is likely only part of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s designs for the European continent. Blinken made the remarks in an interview with CBS News managing editor Norah O’Donnell. When asked by O’Donnell if the U.S. had any specific intelligence indicating Putin will advance beyond Ukraine, the nation’s top diplomat shrugged off the question, suggesting it’s obvious.
