Environmental activist confesses: We misled you

In an article originally posted by Forbes, Environmental activist Michael Shellenberger, who Time Magazine called a “hero of the environment,” confesses that through climate change scare mongering, environmental extremists have misled us for years. Essentially, Shellenberger says the climate is changing and it is nothing to worry about and in many instances the warming is making things better. Shellenberger writes: On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem. I may seem like a strange person to be saying all of this. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30. But as an energy expert asked by Congress to provide objective expert testimony, and invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to serve as Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report, I feel an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public. …

Another ‘failed’ global warming prediction

Look I would be absolutely delighted if they could just get the weather right for the weekend, but climate alarmist demand we must believe their predictions of what will happen years down the road if we don’t rein in CO2 emissions. Well, let’s take look at another of Al Gore’s failed predictions from his book An Inconvenient Truth. Gore predicted that the US would need to rename Glacier National Park because there would be no glaciers by 2012. Gore wrote: “I climbed to the top of the bigger glacier in this park with one of my daughters in 1997 and heard from the scientists who accompanied us that within 15 years all of the glaciers throughout the park will likely be gone.” Earlier this year the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center announced that the park’s 26 glaciers are doing fine and in fact, they removed signs telling people they would be gone by 2020, hoping nobody would notice. Is it time to rein in the man-made global warming hysteria?

The recent arrival of Greta Thunberg, an environmental activist based out of Sweden, has certainly caught everyone’s attention. The 16-year-old’s fearful, emotional and angry presentation to the UN was viewed by millions as she warned of an imminent environmental apocalypse if governments didn’t immediately reduce CO2 emissions. And she is not alone, many young people are feeling a similar anxiety. According to an article entitled “Climate change poses mental health risks to children and teens” published on Science News for Students, the fear mongering over climate change is causing mental health issues for students. Unfortunately, the discussion of global warming has become so politicized, it is almost impossible to separate the rhetoric from the truth. But in the midst of all this, you may have missed a few major news stories that were not the flavor of the day, so basically ignored by most of the main line media. They were calling into question all the hysteria surrounding the issue of climate change. Nobody denies that global warming is taking place. What is questioned is …

American radical-leftist politician, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, warns we have just 12 years to stop man-made global warming

When US Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the newly elected radical leftist and rising star in the Democratic party, recently issued a warning that the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t stop man-made global warming she was just parroting the propaganda being released by UN climate change report in October 2018. The report was part of the UN’s Paris climate accord. In order to hold global warming to 1.5 degrees by 2030, we would need to reduce CO2 emissions by 45% below 2010 levels and then by have our emissions reach zero by 2050 in order for there to be a 66% chance of holding it to just a 1.5 Celsius degree temperature rise. With temperatures scheduled to reach -30 Celsius in the next three days where I live, I would be delighted if it was a balmy -28.5 Celsius instead. Of course this is not the first time we have received such dire warnings. In his 2007, Nobel Peace prize acceptance speech, Al Gore predicted that the arctic would be ice …
