Canada: Calgary high school student tries to burn Bible

A group of left-wing teens outside a high school in Calgary, Canada were caught ripping apart a copy of the New Testament, the Post Millennial reports. One person even briefly tried to set it on fire but stopped after he was reminded there was a fire ban in Alberta due to raging forest fires in the province. In the video, one student quips ‘that’s not cool’ in response to the burning attempt. The student then put out the fire, threw the Bible on the ground, and stomped on it. It was one of the Bibles handed out by Josh Alexander who gained notoriety at his school in Ontario for opposing his Catholic school’s policy allowing trans-females to use the girl’s facilities. However, if it had been a Quran, and the student lived in Britain and accidentally dropped it on the floor, he would have been suspended for a week and the incident registered …

Woke activists try to cancel Colorado church

There is an interesting story on Charisma News about how woke activists are trying to cancel a Christian church in Boulder, Colorado because it believes in traditional marriage. The radicals believe The Well Church is vulnerable because it is renting its facility from a business, and are putting pressure on the business to cancel the arrangement. Several individuals including a journalist and even a member of the local school board have begun targeting the business that is providing space for the church, a local food park, the Rayback Collective. Writing for Charisma News, James Lasher explains that the rage was apparently sparked when the church dared to hold an Easter egg hunt on the front lawn of the Boulder County Courthouse, the week before Easter: In what can only be called a “hit piece,” one local guest columnist wrote in The Daily Camera, a local Boulder newspaper, that the church was “divisive,” “misogynistic” and “potentially, an LGBTQ-hate group.” […] The author who was so outraged by the audacity of Christians to display religious activity in …

Franklin Graham warns that every demon from hell has been unleashed on society

In a keynote presentation to the National Religious Broadcasters on Monday, May 22, 2023, Franklin Graham warned that every demon from hell has been launched against society and Christians need to be prepared, Fox News reports. Graham, who is the son of evangelist Billy Graham and CEO of Samaritans Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Society added: “The world has deteriorated so quickly. We cannot be deceived and we can’t be fooled. We need to get ready and be prepared.“ “There’s a storm coming, and we’ve all got to be prepared.” Graham warned Christian organizations that there may soon be a concerted effort to shut them down both financially and technologically, with Banks and digital cloud companies looking to cancel services to Christian organizations that they don’t agree with. “We’re living in a cancel culture, and [big corporations] want to destroy Christian organizations,” Graham added. “They want us to shut our mouths. They don’t want to hear from us.” READ: Franklin Graham at Christian media convention: Every ‘demon from hell’ has been ‘turned loose’ in …

A word of knowledge and live stream prayer leads to the healing of two Alabama shooting victims at a Sweet 16 party

Six people have been arrested after gunfire erupted at a Sweet 16 party in Dadeville, Alabama on Saturday, April 15, 2023, resulting in four deaths and 32 injured that included four hospitalized in critical condition. One of the deaths included the brother of the young woman who was celebrating her 16th birthday. But in the midst of this tragedy, evidence is emerging of the miraculous healing of two girls who had been critically injured during the shooting, God TV reports. Michael Koulianos who pastors Jesus Image Church in Orlando, Florida was speaking at a Friday evening service on May 5, 2023, and during the worship service the word ‘shooting’ repeatedly started coming to him. Koulianos sensed that the Holy Spirit was wanting to heal someone who had been injured during a shooting and began praying for their healing during the live stream of the service. The connection to the two Dadeville shooting victims was made when a woman who was watching the live stream, believed that Koulianos’ word of knowledge and prayer was intended for …

Did God judge India’s Hindu extremists responsible for the 2007-2008 violence against Christians?

19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12:19 NASV) Journalist Anto Akkara produced a documentary on the breakout of violence against the Christian communities living in the state of Odisha located on the eastern side of India in 2007 and 2008. The violence led by Hindu extremists resulted in the deaths of 100 Christians, the rape of over 40 women, and the burning of nearly 400 churches and 6,500 Christian homes. In an interview with Christianity Today, Akkara revealed the strange things that happened to ten men responsible for much of the violence, leaving Akkara wondering if God’s divine judgement was at work: Starting in 2008, Akkara has made 34 trips to the rural Kandhamal region, where he has filmed four documentaries focused on how this violence has impacted the victims’ lives. For his latest release, The Right Hand of God over Kandhamal, Akkara uncovers the fates of 10 assailants who attacked the Christian …

What does a thumbs-down at a California high school racing event signal?

Adeline Johnson, a high school track star at Sonoma Academy in California, seems to have signalled her dissatisfaction with a thumbs-down at the podium after placing fourth in her 1600m race at the North Coast Meet of Champions. Her fourth place finish disqualified Johnson from competing in the state final as only the top three finishers move on, the New York Post reports. Many believe her thumbs-down motion was in response to Johnson being bumped out of the top three by a transgender female (biological male), who came in second. The California Interscholastic Federation allows individuals to “participate in programs consistent with their gender identity or the gender most consistently expressed.” According to reports, security at the event removed protestors who showed up with signs reading “Protect Female Sports.” READ: High school track star appears to give ‘thumbs-down’ after she’s pushed out of state champs by transgender competitor: ‘Cheated’

When God healed Carlie Terradez of epilepsy

Having been divinely healed of epilepsy myself, this story about how God healed Carlie Terradez from this affliction caught my attention. Though my epilepsy was nowhere as serious as Carlie’s, I was having two to three epileptic seizures a month before God healed me. In Carlie’s case, her seizures were life-threatening. She started having the attacks and blackouts when she was 17 years old. When she had an epileptic seizure she had a 15-minute window when she needed to take her medication as failure to do so would spark a second attack, God TV reports. The road to her healing started when a friend invited Carlie to attend a Bible study. During her first meeting, the leader had a moment of silence, where people could listen to the Holy Spirit. Carlie who had never heard of this gawked at everyone who now bowed their heads. But during this brief interlude, God spoke to Carlie that if she gave her epileptic seizures to Him that she would be healed within two weeks. Carlie was uncertain if …

60 Christians killed, 400 churches burned in an outbreak of persecution in India

There has been a major outbreak of persecution against Christians in the state of Manipur located in Northeastern India, the Christian Post reports. The attacks, which started on May 3, 2023, were directed against largely Christian tribes located in the hill areas of Churachandpur. The persecution that was sparked by Hindu nationalists, the Arambai Tengoll also called the black shirts and Meitei Leepun, resulted in the deaths of over 60 Indian Christians and destruction or damage to 400 churches largely by fire. Approximately 1,700 Christian homes were targeted as well. The increased violence has resulted in over 50,000 people, 35,000 of which are Christians, fleeing their homes. There were reports that police actually participated in the attacks on the Christian groups or in other instances stood by and did nothing. Concerns are growing about further escalation as large caches of weapons and ammunition has also been recovered. It now appears that the Christian tribes may be arming themselves as well. The ‘Smash Sparrow Campaign’ and the left’s continued attack on agriculture

The left’s attack on agriculture in recent years is beyond bizarre considering the world is entering an unprecedented food crisis which is leading to starvation in parts of the world and increasing food prices in the West. Nevertheless, the Dutch government still plans to close down 3,000+ farms, forcibly if it has to, and Canada is ready to force farmers to stop using fertilizer. Both countries are major world food producers. But the left has a long history of destroying agriculture, starting with Comrade Mao Zedong and China’s Cultural Revolution which killed tens of millions because of Mao’s stupidity and maliciousness. In his article, ‘Perfecting the Species,’ David explains Mao’s ‘Smashing Sparrow Campaign’: The big-brained Communist tampered around with agriculture too and came to the perfectly ignorant but quintessentially Marxist conclusion that household vermin are agents of capitalism. Yes, like capitalists, they exploit the labour of the proletariat and therefore must be totally eradicated. And by far the worst of all these bourgeoisie oppressors was, naturally, that most vile and heinous creature, the sparrow… As …

Sex Dolls: Can we talk about this?

I have to start this article with a disclaimer. I am writing as a Christian, and the topic here is closely related to pornography. I hope we can understand some issues in our modern world, without being drawn into the behavior. If Christians don’t speak about some topics, the conversation will only be one-sided. Some challenges need an answer. There are some things we should be aware of. I will not give references or links to visual and video sites, because they tend to be pornographic. There is a line in a country song “I know what I was feeling, but what was I thinking?” So, what are we thinking? A few years ago, I was in a retail store, and I looked for something to buy, but they didn’t have anything for me. It was a strange place. As I was leaving, I passed a mannequin display, and I heard an angry woman. Another shopper, a woman, told me that something was disgusting. I wasn’t sure what she meant, so I looked around, and …

Canada: Police arrest teenage boy handing out Bibles in Calgary

CBN reports that police in Calgary, Canada arrested a teenage boy who was handing out free Bibles. Josh Alexander who is 16 years old posted a video of his arrest on Twitter. Though he was released the same day, police warned Alexander that he would be arrested and charged if he continued to distribute Bibles. The arrest took place after an altercation broke out between Alexander, his supporters, and a counter-protest group. Alexander has previously gained notoriety for opposing policies at his Catholic high school in Renfrew, Ontario, that allowed transgender girls to use female bathrooms. After he organized protests against the decision, Alexander was suspended by the school and eventually arrested by the police when he returned to class while suspended. Study reveals that two-thirds of women struggle emotionally and mentally after having an abortion

A recent study has found that a significant percentage of women struggle both emotionally and mentally after having an abortion, the Christian Post (CP) reports. The study entitled, “The Effects of Abortion Decision Rightness and Decision Type on Women’s Satisfaction and Mental Health,” published by the Charlotte Lozier Institute contradicts the Turnaway Study which stated that 90% of women were happy with their abortion. This second study conducted by David C. Reardon, Katherine A. Rafferty and Tessa Longbons looked at 226 women between the ages of 41 and 45 who had previously had an abortion. The study noted that their level of satisfaction with their decision was largely dependent on whether the woman wanted the abortion in the first place or if she felt pressured into it by external circumstances. “Of 226 women reporting a history of abortion, 33% identified it as wanted, 43% as accepted but inconsistent with their values and preferences, and 24% as unwanted or coerced. Only wanted abortions were associated with positive emotions or mental health gains,” the study wrote. The …

Does a small chalkstone help confirm Jesus’ writing on the ground in John 8?

A chalkstone with inscriptions carved in it discovered in archaeological excavations associated with the City of David’s Pilgrimage Path is clearly hitting above its weight, the Times of Israel reports. The piece said to be 2,000 years old and dated to Christ’s day was found in debris from a marketplace along the 600-meter route that pilgrims took entering Jerusalem for one of Israel’s annual feasts. There was no significant message written on the stone and in fact, it is this insignificance that actually elevated its importance. Archaeologists often find state-sponsored monuments with extensive writing on them, but some have questioned how widespread writing was among the common people. Though there were only a few words scratched on the small chalkstone, it was obviously intended as a ledger keeping track of some type of financial arrangement. One of the lines reads ‘Shimon’, a term used to describe Herod’s Temple, and the second word ‘mem’ is an economic term, an abbreviation of the Hebrew word, ma’ot, for money. Along with this, several numbers were also scraped into …

It is a sign? Several homes hit by meteors in recent months

13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. (Revelation 6:13 NIV) An interesting article on Israel365 News reported on the number of houses around the world which have been hit by meteors in recent months and suggests that the number of meteor strikes is on the rise. April 25, 2023: Four meteors hit the town of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. One of the meteors, which was about 2.6 inches (6.6 cm) in diameter, actually smashed through the roof of a home. Though the three other meteors did not hit property, one of them which just missed a garden weighed 3.5 kilograms. May 8, 2023: A meteor cut through the roof of a house in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. Fortunately, no one was injured by the metal meteor said to be 4 inches (ca. 10 cm) by 6 inches (ca. 15 cm) in size. It was part of the Eta Aquarids meteor shower that happens annually. North Carolina police thank cows for helping apprehend a suspect

In a post on its Facebook page, the Boone Police Department in North Carolina reported they were able to apprehend a suspect with the help of a herd of cows, The Blaze reports. According to the report, the police were in pursuit of the 34-year-old suspect after an attempted traffic stop. When the man abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot, the police were too far away to determine which direction the individual had fled. However, it seems the suspect had fled into a pasture inhabited by a herd of cows who then assisted the police in apprehending the suspect. “Apparently cows do not want suspected criminals loitering in their pasture and quickly assisted our officers by leading them directly to where the suspect was hiding. The cows communicated with the officers as best they could and finally just had the officers follow them to the suspect’s location,” police reported. US Surgeon General warns that people’s health may be undermined by not attending church

In a surprising advisory, US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy warned about the epidemic of loneliness hitting the US and then attributed this in part to a decline in church attendance, the Washington Stand reports. It was the first health advisory the US government has ever issued on what it described as the ‘epidemic of loneliness’ in the US. In a video released along with the advisory, Murthy spoke of the many health issues associated with loneliness, “Research shows that loneliness and isolation are associated with a greater risk of heart disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety, and premature death,” Murthy said. He went on to suggest that experiencing loneliness was the equivalent of smoking 15 cigarettes a day. In the advisory, Murthy pointed to declining church attendance as one of the contributing factors to this epidemic. “Religious or faith-based groups can be a source for regular social contact, serve as a community of support, provide meaning and purpose, create a sense of belonging around shared values and beliefs, and are associated with reduced risk-taking behaviors,” Murthy …
