Statue described by some as satanic pays homage to abortion on top of New York courthouse

A new horned female statue, called Now, with tentacles for arms, has been temporarily set up on the roof of a New York state courthouse in New York City alongside the statues of historical figures. Across the street, a sister 18′ statue entitled Witness has been set up in Madison Square Park. The statues are the work of a Pakistani-American artist, Shahzia Sikander and will remain on the site until June when they will be transferred to a location in Houston, Texas. The Blaze described the statue appearing on the roof of New York State’s Supreme Court alongside ancient historical lawgivers, such as Moses, as: “An eight-foot sculpture of a horned female fused to a lotus flower with what appear to be tentacles has been erected above a state courthouse in New York City. The statue joins nine others portraying historical lawgivers, each representing the world’s purportedly great legal systems.” Sikander added that her inspiration was her opposition to the recent overturning of Roe vs Wade, by the US Supreme Court. She dedicated the eight-foot …

World’s most crime-ridden McDonald’s in Ottawa, Canada to close

We have been hearing stories about how businesses are closing in California and other US states because of rampant crime due to Democrat prosecutors-easy-on crime policies, well the trend is happening in Canada, Fox News reports. Apparently, a McDonald’s restaurant in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, has decided to close down due to rampant crime. It has been dubbed the world’s most crime-ridden McDonald’s. As Charles Bordeleau, Ottawa’s former chief of police explained in his letter to the McDonald’s CEO in 2019: “Officers attend this location on a daily basis to address issues including vagrancy, liquor license violations, illicit drug use, and incidents of violence.” Fox News added that in 2017, police responded to 900 calls from that particular McDonald’s location and along with 843 in 2018. In 2019, the location called police over seven times a day during a two-day stretch in April. And more recently, customers are reporting finding hypodermic needles on the floor of the restaurant. A woman that Newsom depicted in an ad as being sad over Roe vs Wade ruling was actually jubilant because she is pro-life

When California Governor Gavin Newsom decided to run a pro-abortion ad, he used an image of a woman crying outside the US Supreme Court to depict the sadness and panic women were feeling because of the overturning of Roe vs Wade, The Blaze reports. However, maybe he should have checked with the woman first before including her image because her name was Macy Petty, a Lee University student and pro-life activist. In response, Petty tweeted “Panic? Sad? Try ecstatic, blown away by God’s grace on this country” and posted her response to both the Governor’s official and personal Twitter accounts. On her Instagram account, Petty went further and accused Newsom of trying to put his words in her mouth: “California governor Gavin Newsom has used my image in one of his political ads in yet another attempt to show his support for women. He and pro abortion Democrats have one again shown Americans that they care little for my voice as a woman.” She also asked Newsom to take down the ad or remove her …

Third-grader wins battle with her school over ‘Jesus Loves Me’ facemask

In 2020, third-grader Lydia Booth was forced to wear a facemask at school because of Covid, but got into a heap of trouble with her Simpson County School District in Mississippi when she wore a facemask that said: “Jesus love me,” Fox News reports. Kids throughout the school were wearing facemasks with words on them and Lydia had worn the mask several times, with no complaints. Note, the facemask didn’t say “Jesus loves you” it was an expression of her personal faith of God’s love for her. Lydia said that in the midst of the pandemic, the facemask helped her feel safe. But that changed when the school district decided to change its policy in the middle of its school year and disallow masks with political and religious messages on them. As soon as the edict was passed, Lydia was told she could no longer wear the mask. It was noted that, Lydia’s facemask did not cause disruption in the school and none of the students had complained about it. But obviously, someone didn’t like …

Prove that God exists! Or be an Atheist!

Do you believe in God? Ok, prove that God exists. And if you can’t prove that God exists, we know that God does not exist, and we should all be Atheists. It’s a common argument: Prove that God exists, or I refuse to believe. It goes back to the Middle Ages, at least, and you still might hear it today, or use it. The speakers in the video try to be reasonable and neutral. For them, it is enough that God is a possibility, but they are sure that we can never prove that God exists. So, do we have two stark choices, believe or be an Atheist? People on both sides want us to make a decision. They want us to fall into one side or the other, so we are coerced to believe something. The truth is, we are all free to decide, and we always have been. Researchers have found that most people are somewhere between believing and not: When we are not forced, we really don’t know, and we are not …

American Hispanic protestant churches reporting growth

According to a survey conducted by Lifeway Research, Hispanic churches across the US have seen significant growth in recent years, Christian Headlines reports. The survey found that most of the Hispanic churches (54%) were started after 2000 including 32% after 2010. Lifeway Executive Director Scott McConnell described the growth as remarkable. He added while many of the churches sprung out of English-speaking churches, he said that 14% of the Hispanic churches originated from within Hispanic communities themselves. Additionally, with 58% of their congregation members being first-generation Americans, meaning they were born outside the US, 53% of the services are conducted in Spanish only and 22% of Hispanic churches hold bilingual services. The Hispanic churches are also active in evangelization with 79% of pastors reporting that they schedule regular evangelistic activities for their churches. This ranges from official outreaches such as door-to-door evangelism to holding festivals and other community activities where members can invite neighbors and friends. Nearly half the churches (47%) report they have seen ten or more people making commitments to Christ through these …

Video: A Jewish man’s analysis of the Shroud of Turin

I have never been exactly sure what to think about the Shroud of Turin, which some believe was the burial cloth used to cover Christ’s body in the tomb. The shroud has an image of a man somehow etched in the cloth, that not only includes blood stains but seems to reveal the wounds of a man who had been crucified. Some believe this image was somehow burned into the cloth at Christ’s resurrection. Note: burn is the wrong word to use to describe how it happened. Though I have tended to reject it as legitimate, this video by Barrie Schwortz, who was part of a team of experts called in to examine the cloth several years back, has caused me to at least reconsider my position. Schwortz is convinced of its legitimacy. But here is the catcher, he is not only Jewish, but he was also a skeptic when asked to help examine the shroud.

Dan Cathy, son of Chick-fil-A’s founder, states the popular fast food restaurant exists to ‘glorify God’

For the eighth year in a row, Chick-fil-A was rated as America’s most popular food chain by the American Customer Satisfaction Index in 2022. Yet despite this, the fast-food chain has outraged left-wing politicians. When the corporation opened its third restaurant in New York City in 2016, then mayor Bill de Blasio along with several members of the council called for a boycott of the restaurant. This is because the Truett family, who owns the restaurant chain, have never been shy about expressing their faith in Christ and support of the traditional family. And in a recent interview with Chief Executive, Dan Cathy, who serves as Chick-fil-A’s chairman of the board, explained that the purpose of the company is to glorify God, CBN reports. “At Chick-fil-A, we are very grounded on our corporate purpose, to be a purpose-driven organization,” Dan said in the interview. “That purpose is defined in the statement that we’re here to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that’s entrusted to us and have a positive influence on all …
