Falsely accused of blasphemy, Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi now in Canada

According to Wilson Chawdhry who works with the British Pakistani Christian Association, Asia Bibi, the Christian woman in Pakistan accused of blasphemy, is safely out of the country and is now in Canada with her daughters. Chawdhry said he received a text message from a British diplomat that Bibi was safely in Canada and this has since been confirmed by officials in the Pakistani government and Bibi’s lawyer. In 2009, Asia, who worked a fruit picker, was accused by Muslims of using a tin cup to drink water out of well and by doing so contaminated the cup for other Muslims. This was quickly followed by a blasphemy charge by a neighbor whose family was in conflict with Bibi’s family over land. With a population of over 213 million people, the country is officially called the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with Islam designated the state religion. Over 96% of the population is Muslim with Christians sitting at around 1.5%. Many Pakistani Muslim’s typically trump up these type of accusations when in fights with Christians, legal …

Miraculously saved at sea by ‘The Amen’

Two high school seniors, Tyler Smith and Heather Brown, from Christ Church Academy in Jacksonville, Florida were walking along the beach with friends when Smith and Brown decided to walk into the ocean. A few minutes later, they were caught up in a rip current that swiftly dragged them out into the Atlantic Ocean. In a matter of a few minutes, the two were nearly two miles out, being pummeled by rough seas and unable to break free from the current. Instead of fighting it, they decided to float in the water and were in the ocean for about two hours when their rescue came from a very unexpected source. As this drama was unfolding, Eric Wagner from Delray, Florida was deciding whether or not to head out to sea for a trip to New Jersey. On his Facebook page, he was questioning the decision, because the seas were rough due to the 18 to 24 miles per hour winds. But in the end he decided to make the trip. They were about two miles …

Yakkity Yak

Several years back I worked with a counseling ministry and was in a session when the woman blurted out: “You haven’t heard a word I said!” I thought that’s a weird way to start a conversation. But just in case I was actually supposed to listen I nodded and grunted. “I knew it!” I should have shook instead of nodded. This reminds me of a certain counselor colleague of mine. He had a client that believed she was boring and half through her session, he fell asleep! Men are just not wired into conversation as much as women. I know there are some men who yak up a storm and there are some women who hardly ever talk at all. Both are rare. Most men I know only talk about their favorite sport. Most women talk about anything except that man’s favorite sport.    A woman talking to you it is a gift. Unless they are mad at you. Then it’s a bit less of a gift. So back to the woman mad at me. …

Ninja Jesus: Fight the Good Fight

Using the word “Ninja” and the name “Jesus” in the same sentence might seem wrong to some people, but don’t judge too quickly. There is a lesson to learn here. I was talking to a friend today, and I told him how I once had a stressful job, and I got the impression that I should find a new job. I found one, and a few days after I moved, senior management called a meeting and fired my old department. I learned about this months later. My friend was amazed, and he told me that someone must have been watching over me. I realized when he said it, that he was right. Some power kept me from the termination of my career, unlike many of my friends. Some power. Years ago, I read a news article from Belarus, where the government was evicting and closing a Pentecostal church. Someone wrote a comment in Russian, and I put the words in Google Translate, and I read this story; ‘Don’t close that church. When my little boy …

A word for women: ‘Arise, rest and eat, then go’

Sometimes, it takes awhile for the smoke to clear, after you walked by faith through a fear wall.  The smoke stings and your eyesight is still a bit blurry. But you made it and came through the other side not quite aware of what you have just done. Then you wait and rest, and wait and rest again, until clarity comes. Lana Vawser is a prophetic teacher that I follow and recently she gave a word about what is coming: “You were not sure because of  the attack of the enemy, because of fear and intimidation, but now  clarity is coming like never before and that clarity from the Lord’s heart and the Spirit of God is giving you your wings to fly!  . So what is this clarity? Sometimes as women, we have the idea that it is un-spiritual to look after ourselves, but this is wrong. I have been looking at the story of Elijah when he fled for his life after Jezebel threatened to kill him. Elijah had just slain the 450 …

‘Light of life’: There is an explosion of light at the moment of conception in a human egg

Researchers at Chicago’s Northwestern University have videoed the moment of conception in a human egg and it causes a flash of light. In an earlier study, the research team noticed an explosion of light in mice eggs when they came in contact with sperm, and were uncertain if it took place in humans. Speaking on behalf of the research team, Dr. Teresa Woodruff said: “We discovered the zinc spark just five years ago in the mouse, and to see the zinc radiate out in a burst from each human egg was breath-taking. It was remarkable.” According to the researchers at the precise moment a sperm touches an egg, it causes a spontaneous release of calcium that results in zinc being released inside the egg. The light explosion occurs as the zinc binds with fluorescent molecules. The flash is so intense, it can actually be seen outside the egg. They now believe that zinc starts the process of creating a completely new genetic person. They were able to create this explosion by inserting sperm enzymes, versus …

Wall discovered at Lachish confirms 2 Chronicles 11:5-11

The remains of Lachish an ancient Jewish city is  a two-day walk from Jerusalem. Recent discovering at the city have caused major problems for secularist because it is not going along with their preconceived ideas. Secularists basically don’t believe the Bible is true treating it as little more than a collection of myths. It is taken awhile but most secularists finally acknowledged that King David and King Solomon did exist, which is a big step forward because for years they didn’t even believe that. But after repeated archaeological discoveries proved them wrong, they have finally allowed the facts to speak for themselves. So they changed their tune slightly and decided the two existed, but were little more than small village warlords and not the leaders of a formidable kingdom portrayed in the Bible. But a recent discovery at Lachish is putting that notion of a tribal war lord to route. According the Biblical record, Lachish was a major fortified city in Israel during the reign of King Rehoboam. Rehoboam was Solomon’s son (grandson of King …

God’s miraculous protection from decapitation jolts actor back to faith

Kristoffer Polaha, 42, is an American actor who is known for his Christian faith. He has appeared in dozens of episodes of TV shows from Castle to CSI Miami, Hawaii Five-O and North Shore. He has also starred in several movies and has publicly stated he favors Hallmark movies, because he wants to be able to sit with his seven year old son as they watch shows. He stared in Hallmark’s hit Rocky Mountain Christmas. Though today a devoted Christian, it wasn’t always that way. And he recently shared his story on The Billy & Justin Show about God’s remarkable protection that brought him back to faith. In an article on Pureflix, Kristoffer said he grew up in a home with a Pentecostal mother and Catholic father and when he was 17 years old, he took a sabbatical from his faith. He was wondering if his success could be attributed to his faith in God or his own personal abilities and decided to test that by not praying for six months. He added: “That six …

I am Superman!

I am Superman. It’s true. I have proof of it and you can even ask my wife. I have a Superman key chain and Superman pyjamas, and even a Superman t-shirt. But I did stop short of the Superman onesie. Okay so maybe I don’t stop runaway trains and maybe a bullet could speed faster than me. Some would say I don’t even fly. Never let reality get in the way of the truth! God changed me into a Superman. Here’s how he did that. First of all do you remember the story of Superman? He was an alien sent to earth from a dying planet. Something about earth gave him super human powers and he could do all sorts of things like flying and stopping bullets with his chest. But rather than live the life of a superhero he created an alter ego called Clark Kent. Clark Kent was not the type of alter ego I would chose. He was wimpy, nervous, and unsure of himself. Basically the exact opposite of Superman. I guess …

CEO Jesus: Disrupt Everything

Jesus was the head of an organization, the CEO of a corporation. He made a carefully defined organization with a clear business plan. We easily forget today, that Jesus the CEO still has a purpose, and a direction, and a final goal. But first let me tell you why I am not rich. At least one reason can be blamed on other people. My father has told me stories about a manufacturing business owned by some of his old relatives, more than a hundred years ago, the “McIntosh Munro Carriage Company.” These craftsmen made high quality vehicles that were powered by horses, and the owners were related to my father, who is 93 years old, as I write this. If you have one of those carriages in good condition now, it might be worth a fortune. Not far away from my father’s family was another company, owned by a man named Henry Ford, and I am not related to Henry Ford. You would probably never know about the carriage company, if I didn’t tell you, …

The fear illusion

If I have learned anything this past month it is that fear is an illusion.  It rises up in our minds and creates a smoke screen. As Susie Larson from Faith Radio says, ‘we cannot underestimate the destructive impact that undealt-with fear has on our lives’. She goes on to quote brain science expert Dr. Timothy Jennings: “Fear is an intruder, an unnatural invader, like a flesh-eating bacteria – ravaging and deforming all of creation.” Jesus tells us that: 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10 ESV) In our society there is a constant fear of having things stolen.  I remember growing up we never locked our homes when we went out. Today we are double checking to make sure everything is shutdown. We are living in constant fear. But in this verse, I believe Jesus was talking about how He would give us an abundant life and He was referring to fear as the thief who steals our …

My Prophetic Journey Part 16: From the Hand or the Heart

You can always spot the fridge of a proud parent or grandparent, covered with photos and artwork of children. My wife and I are no different. The great value in our granddaughter’s art is not that it’s from the hand of a great artist, but that it is 100% from the heart. The heart trumps the hand! Matthew 19:14 says, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Our response to our heavenly Father must be one focused on His heart, not just what comes from His hand. Two brothers in the Bible illustrate this perfectly – Jacob and Esau. Romans 9:13 says, “Jacob I have loved but Esau I have hated.” Without getting into Calvinism vs. Arminianism, I just want to look at what these two very different men focused on. Jacob, for all his grasping for things and other faults, had a heart for God. On the other hand, we see in Genesis 25 that Esau not only sold his birthright …

Miracle at Mall of America

On Easter Sunday (April 20, 2019), Pastor Mac Hammond of Living Word Christian church in Minneapolis, Minnesota provided an update on the miraculous recovery of Landon, 5, who was thrown from the balcony of Mall of America by Emmanuel Aranda, 24, on Friday, April 12, 2019. Police stated that Aranda had purposefully gone to the mall that day to kill someone. In fact, he had planned to throw an adult over the railing a day earlier, but could find no suitable candidate. According to Hammond, when Landon’s mom arrived at the mall around 10:30 am, God warned her of danger: “Going into the mall, Landon’s mom had a premonition, the Holy Ghost gave her a warning, and in her words a dread came over her, but you know she didn’t feel like she could turn around and leave, because she was supposed to meet this other mom and son there, and so she prayed. Shortly after they came into the mall, they were approached by Emmanual Aranda. Landon’s mom asked if they were in the …

A new name for Christians?

“and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26 NASV) According to the Biblical record, the early believers were first called Christians in Antioch. Since the word Christian in the Greek literally means “little Christ,” it was probably intended as an insult, but the believers were fine with it and the name eventually stuck. Prior to that they were called the followers of the way (Acts 9:2) and later some even referred to them as “sect of the Nazarenes” (Acts 24:5). But some wonder if there is an attempt by those on the political left in America to give Christians another name change after the organized bombing of three Sri Lanka churches on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2019. The Sri Lanka government stated a home-grown radical Islamist group called National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) is responsible for the attacks that led to 263 deaths …

Gone Bananas

I’m only sixty percent bananas! Woohoo! And my family said I was one hundred percent bonkers! Actually I am a bit more than sixty percent but I’ll take it. Especially since I am more bananas than chicken. I guess a crazy person who isn’t chicken is pretty scary so I better explain this one. A friend of mine ordered one of those DNA tests to find out about her roots and what wonderful diseases to which she can look forward when she gets old. Apparently she will be a healthy old broad. Then I remembered some old science that claimed we had something like ninety six percent similar DNA to a chimpanzee. Of course the evolutionists thought this was great since it proved we came from apes which came from some other animal etc until you got to pond scum. So the bottom line is we are all evolved pond scum. Except I don’t want to be pond scum! I looked at the similarities between DNA of humans and other things like chimps and bananas. …
