A TikToker’s recent conversion to Christianity has caught a lot of people’s attention.

This is largely because the British-based influencer who goes by the name of Kieos was a former Muslim who built up a TikTok following of 100,000 by promoting Islam.

In an interview with The Brittannia Daily, Kieos said despite being an agnostic, he began studying different religions and religious experiences. This resulted in him embracing Islam in his mid-twenties.

“It was mostly social media videos, which led me to buy and read books, and unfolded from there,” he said in his interview with The Britannia. After his conversion, Kieos traveled to the Middle East to personally experience Islam.

He then began producing videos defending and promoting Islam.

But after doing this for several years, he started having doubts when he discovered verses in the Koran that were contradicted by modern science.

He privately approached several Muslims about his questions, but received no satisfactory answers. In fact, some of those answers only deepened his doubts.

When he started bringing up his doubts during live video sessions, instead of providing answers, fellow Islamic apologists attacked him in their videos. He even started receiving death threats.

Even though he rarely has dreams, Kieos had vivid dreams about Jesus Christ, three nights in a row.

These dreams were entirely unexpected, because at that point he had not been considering Jesus or Christianity as an alternative faith. So that interest could not be considered the subconscious spark for the dreams.

In fact, it was the dreams that caused him to take a look at Christianity and particularly the divinity of Christ.

“I have taken it as a sign from God to look into Christ, whom I have denied the divinity of my whole life,” Kieos  told The Britannia,

After studying Christianity for several weeks, Kieos released a video announcing his decision to become a Christian.

Though 80% of his Muslim followers responded negatively, the backlash was less severe than he feared.” The remaining 20% were either good with his decision or understood why he did it.

But it’s interesting how Jesus appeared to Kieos in his dreams. Because we see similar things happening in the Bible.

In Job 33:15, dreams are described as ‘night visions.’ This doesn’t mean every dream is from God, but some definitely are. Dreams and visions are related.

Though the Apostle Paul didn’t have a dream. He had a vision encounter with Jesus while on the road to Damascus.

In this vision, Jesus asked Paul, “Why are you persecuting Me?” (Acts 9:4). This intervention resulted in a dramatic transformation as Paul went from an active persecutor of Christians, to a Gospel preacher.

And I believe even the Jewish patriarchs were having dreams and visions of Christ. I am convinced The Angel of the Lord mentioned often throughout the Old Testament, was none other than Jesus in His pre-incarnate form.

While there are several angels mentioned throughout Scripture, one is distinguished by a definite article and called ’The Angel of the Lord’.

We see this at play in a dream that Jacob had while he was being swindled by his father-in-law Laban:

¹¹ The angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob.’ I answered, ‘Here I am.’ ¹² And he said, ‘Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. 

But notice what The Angel of the Lord says in the very next verse:

¹³ I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land.’”

The Angel of the Lord says that He is the God of Bethel. This was referring back to the dream Jacob had of angels ascending and descending from heaven (Genesis 28). The Patriarch built an altar to commemorate this supernatural encounter.

It was The Angel of the Lord, who spoke to Moses out of the burning bush in Exodus 3:2 and called Himself both Jehovah (LORD in all caps) and God (verse 4).

The Angel of the Lord then said His name was “I am who I am” (verse 14). This was the same name that Jesus used when he told the Jewish leaders, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am” (John 8:58).

Jesus was claiming to be The Angel of the Lord in the burning bush. The Jewish leaders knew exactly what Jesus was implying as they sought to stone Him for blasphemy (verse 59).

Jesus was appearing in dreams to people in the Old Testament. He was appearing in dreams and visions to people in the New Testament and the Lord is still appearing in dreams today.
