Should we read any more into two odd coincidences, one that took place this year and the second 3,000 years ago?

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
by Benjamin West (1738–1820)/Wikipedia/Public Domain

The four-horseman of the Apocalypse that the Apostle John saw being released on the world in his vision of the end times is perhaps one of his best-known apocalyptic references, other than the anti-Christ and the mark of the beast.

With that in mind, many people in Britain, and around the world, were stunned to see video and images of a bloodied white horse and black horse charging through the streets of London, England on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

The horses were part of a group of seven horses in training with a British army cavalry unit. The animals were startled by a work project going on nearby, and four horses bucked off their riders. Five horses managed to escape.

Three were recaptured soon after, while the remaining two, a black and white horse, charged wildly down the streets of London for another six miles before finally being corralled. Both were immediately taken to a vet and the army is reporting that both horses are recovering.

What made this imagery particularly bizarre was the videos of the front of the white horse, called ‘Grey,’ covered in blood. He may have been cut when the two horses crashed through several parked e-bikes.

With everything taking place around the world in recent years, many who watched videos of the incident commented that the two horses reminded them of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Michael Snyder in his article for Charisma News pointed to one Twitter comment.

A white horse, covered in blood, and a black horse rush through the streets of London. White, red, black. Prophetic sign? Is a pale green horse next?,” wrote Sharon Gilbert.

There were related comments on a video that The Telegraph posted about the incident.

One person wrote, “The image of the white horse running through the streets covered in blood looks as though it was taken from some apocalypse movie.”

There is something eerily apocalyptic and prophetic about this scene. The horsemen of apocalypse. Both a red horse and black horse depicted…war is coming,” another added.

Two others, without going into detail, said, “It’s symbolic” and “Well this is symbolic af in multiple ways.”

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

At the sounding of the seven trumpets in Revelation chapter six, we see the first four trumpets involve the release of four horsemen on the earth.

The first is riding a white horse, referred to as conquest.

This horseman has a crown on his head and he was sent out to win battles and basically conquer the world.

And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.
(Revelation 6:2 ESV)

Most believe this probably describes the release of the Antichrist on the earth, who will set up a one-world government.

Now aside from the videos of those two horses looking eerily similar to the apocalyptic horseman, in her article for the Daily Mail, Freya Barnes writes about a second odd coincidence. The bloodied white horse, called Grey, “usually carries a trumpeter from the Household Cavalry,” Barnes explained.

The second Apocalyptic horseman rides a red horse:

And out came another horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.” (Revelation 6:4 ESV)

Many believe this second horseman speaks about the release of an intense time of war and conflict in the world.

The third horseman is riding a black horse:

And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!” (Revelation 6:5-6 ESV)

The black horse speaks of massive food shortages around the world that will lead to famines.

The fourth horseman is riding a pale green horse:

“And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.” (Revelation 6:8 ESV)

The release of this fourth horseman will result in widespread death around the world, in part because of the wars and famines. But obviously, plagues, earthquakes, and volcanos, which are also part of the end times predictions, will contribute to this.

The verse suggests that a fourth of the world would be particularly vulnerable.

Maybe the scene of the white horse and black horse charging through the streets of London is just a coincidence.

But before we quickly toss it aside, we need to remember that God does speak to people in imagery that they will understand.

The Jonah and Nineveh coincidence

When God sent Jonah to call the great city of Nineveh to repentance about 3,000 years ago, we see a strange series of events taking place.

The most unusual involved a whale or very large fish swallowing Jonah and then spitting the prophet up on shore, possibly in the sight of local fishermen.

Perhaps it was just a coincidence that Assyria’s major deity at that time was Dagon and his female fish cohort Nanshe.

According to ancient mythology, Dagon was the father of Baal. He was the fish god (dag in Hebrew means “fish”), and he was represented as a half-man, half-fish creature,” explains GotQuestions.

So with Jonah having just been spit out of a fish and the Assyrian god being half-fish, Jonah’s arrival could have been considered just an odd coincidence.

But it wasn’t. The king of Nineveh responded immediately and called the city to repent.

But this wasn’t the only coincidence the people of Nineveh witnessed.

As I mentioned in a previous article, NASA’s astronomical records showed the people of Nineveh witnessed a total eclipse of the sun just a few years earlier, which would have also been considered a significant omen.

Maybe they all are just coincidences, or maybe God is trying to catch our attention.

This wasn’t the first time, that God did this:
