A report by a U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary subcommittee alleges that financial crimes enforcement officials in the U.S. Treasury Department instructed banks to analyze the private financial transactions of its customers. This included looking for purchase of religious texts, the Christian Post reports.

According to a document received by the subcommittee studying the weaponization of the federal government, bank officials were asked to look at the purchases of those who were linked to such things as ‘MAGA’ and ‘TRUMP’.

In addition to the purchase of Bibles, government officials also cited transportation charges such as a vehicle rental, and purchase of bus, and airplane tickets as things of interest. They also asked banks to search for purchases from sporting goods stores such as Cabela’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The request for this financial data was supposedly linked to the riot that took place at the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. However, Fox News has since learned that the Treasury Board’s request for information extended far beyond anything related to this incident.
